Hi friends,
Sorry for the lack of posts for a while. Life gets busy .😉😆 Dog treats don't always need to be bought . You can make them at home yourself. A dehydrater set to 70 degrees for 8 hours gives you beautiful Jerry treats for your dog to enjoy. Mine are salmon and they all love them. The fridge seems to be under constant surveillance. You can even enjoy it yourself.

Hi everyone. Introducing a new Pet Pirouette family member. Fleur is an8 week old bordercollie with a very gentle disposition. She came from Penteronda Bordercollies (who I would highly recommend) and came from a litter of 8 beautiful babies. So our Baby Grace, the Face of Pet Pirouette, now has a little sister.🥰😍🥰😍

Baking day at the Pet Pirouette house. These charcoal cookies are absolutely invaluable for when Grace feels unwell. She feels better within minutes. They are also great for doggy breathe and other , um , unwanted doggy smells. Next I baked my Parmesan Pupperoni cookies and as you can see from the photo, Grace loves these too.

Hi everyone,
Sorry that I haven't posted for ages. Life has been sooo busy lately. You all know what I mean. 🤣 Anyway, I just wanted to tell you about a new Pet Pirouette endeavour that we have added to our visitation and dog walking services. We are calling it Stay and Play. It is a bespoke dog daycare service that caters for up to 3 dogs (plus TheFace of Pet Pirouette, Baby Grace) on our 10and a half acres property in Arrow Junction. The staying dogs must be good with other animals because as you all know we have 13. Good with kids too. These happy hounds will join our family for the day, play , go on adventures with us and generally have their own personal needs met that could be overlooked in a larger daycare center. Currently we have 2 openings for Monday and Wednesday and 3 openings for Tuesday. It's $50 per day. If you or someone you know is interested please give me a call or text on 021 99 44 81. Just wanted to share with you the beginning of the guinea pigs new enclosure. My husband, Peter, has been busy getting ideas for it . I don't know how he got it in the house on his own. It's really heavy. 🤔😆 If you've made your own piggies or bunny enclosure send me a photo. I would love to see what you've done.

Today I stamped my 1st ever pet tag for my dog Grace. I don't think she'll care if it's not straight. Hi everyone, foraging sure comes in handy when it comes to supplement feed. I regularly forage for not only the piggies but also the budgies and chickens to. It's fun, you get outside in the fresh air and you learn different plants . If you've never done it before take it slowly with only 1 or 2 plants eg dandelion and clover. Increase your varieties as your confidence increases and if ever in doubt of a plants safety then just leave it. Don't take the risk. Otherwise, go for it and have fun.

Hi everyone, today I took my son and his friend to Andrea Green grass Balona's house to help with to socialization process of the newly rescued kittens and cat. Andrea of Q.T.Cats and our friends at Queenstown Cat Rescue are an extremely dedicated group of compassionate and hard working people who are truly invested in making a better life for their fellow creature . Hi everyone,
We all love our piggies but too much calcium is not a good idea. Of course our piggies need calcium for healthy teeth and bones but if the amount is too high they can end up with bladder or kidney stones or sludge. So try to chose lower calcium veges eg. Capsicum over those with alot of it eg.brocolli. Also keep an eye on their enclosure too . If you see white stains where they have gone to the toilet then they have just eaten a high calcium meal. Don't panic. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong because this is how piggies remove excess calcium from their bodies . However if they continue to indulge over a lengthy time problems may arise. Planning your piggies meals can be handy to take the pressure off having to to remember what they can and can't have alot of.😁

Hi friends,
People often think that small animals , like rabbits and guinea pigs, are a great first pet for the kids because they are so easy to look after. Right? Wrong. Smaller pets often require more effort than , say, a dog or cat. As we have piggies, I will use them as the example. Piggies need to be cleaned a minimum of twice a day, they must have hay 24/7, they need good quality pellets and fresh greens and vegetables. Occasionally fruit can be given and if you can go clip a handful of grass with scissors they will be very thankful and maybe even do some popcorn jumps for you. Sounds easy? Not quite. Vitamin C and calcium levels need to be monitored closely so that problems such as bladder stones and kidney stones don't result. We'll discuss this more over the coming weeks. In the meantime, it's a good idea to help the kids with smaller,farrier family members.😉

Hi everyone,
despite all the rain we’ve had recently the weather is still warming up so you may find lots of hair from your pets drifting everywhere.Yes and I do mean EVERYWHERE. As you can see my Baby Grace has a thick double coat and she really suffers over summer but dogs aren’t the only animals that may need a bit of help to , not only remove excess hair that gets caught but to also just tidy and reinvigorate them. So grab your pet’s brush and give them a hand. Doesn’t matter if you have a dog ,cat, horse or other furry critter . Regular brushing will cut down on the amount of hair rolling like a tumbleweed around your house , feels great to them and , let’s face it, is great time together. Ready ,set,brush.

Summer's coming and that means our fur family are going to need a bit more attention to keep them cool and well hydrated. Regardless of what fur kid you have remember that water. You may even need to check it several times a day just incase it runs out or gets dirty. Here you see Bluey showering under his water fountain ⛲. He , and Sparky D. , have so much fun splashing around.

Oh no! Broody chicken! Madame de Pompadour , also referred to as The Bantam Menace, has decided she wants to hatch baby chicks. She has diligently been sitting on 3 eggs all day .Poor Poppet . We don’t have a rooster so those eggs won’t hatch. I think tomorrow I’ll drive her around in the car for a while and hopefully that will break the broodiness.

Hi everyone, I thought today that i would feature a very well-known local celebrity as Pet Pirouette's friend of the week. Most of you probably know Izzy the New World cat. Izzy was a stray who was adopted by Remarkables Park New World supermarket who provide her food and water, bed ,scratching post and other toys. She is a cat who has been taken into the heart of the local community and is always receiving pats and kind words from passers-by. Go say hi next time you are at New World.

Welcome again friends to Pet Pirouette. This week's Friend of Pet Pirouette " is little Alfie Kerr. Alfie is 14 years young and has an amazing zest for life. He loves to play with balls and although his eyesight isn't as good as it used to be he still loves to fetch sticks. If you are in Arrowtown you may see Alfie enjoying an invigorating ( though a little slower than in his younger years)walk or even a swim in the river. He is a much loved member of the Kerr family and the apple of his parents eye. Well done Alfie.

Pet Pirouette friend of the week, Pablo Picatso. Pablo is a cat's cat. Debonair, self assured and well aware that he's the boss. Favorite things: sleeping in the sun and cuddles( on his terms ,of course. ) Good on you Pabby!😍
