Whilst I’m loving my little Japanese adventure wooow I am missing the dogs!!

Look at this little guy I had the pleasure of meeting the other day. Next place to hunt down this weekend is the dog gardens that apparently has a little tipi selling all things dog related plus great coffee and ramen. Sounds like the dream spot… 🇯🇵🍜🐾🏔️

Take the Lead QT have been operating in the Queenstown basin since 2021.

We have recently grown to a team of 3 who are all Pet First Aid trained by the amazing Remarkable Dog Training.

Emma, Olivia and Louisa are all highly passionate about providing loving care for you pup at those times you just need an extra pair of hands.

From dog walking (groups and solo) to house sitting and puppy care we are flexible to your needs.

We have had some spaces open up in our group walks for the 2024 season and would love to welcome some more beautiful pups of the Queenstown area.

We cover from Bobs Cove to Arrowtown to Jacks Point and everything in between.

Wahoo the whole TTL team is officially Pet First Aid Trained!! ⛑️

Louisa completed her training with & last weekend.

We have all loved gaining this extra knowledge to know your pups will be able to receive the correct care in our hands. We highly recommend the course to anyone else the next time it comes to QT.

Keeping your pups happy and safe is the most important thing to us here at Take the Lead. 🐾

Haize is one of our new Take the Lead pups! She is still young and working on her recall so spends the majority of her walks on our (very) long line! This give us a safe space to practice her recall whilst also allowing her the freedom to explore and play with the other pups. Plus it keeps her mum and dad mind at ease knowing she won’t be distracted by those pesky rabbits. We will be nailing that recall over the remainder of the year and the long lead can be packed away soon 🐾🦮

Exciting announcement!!

The Take the Lead QT team has grown once again.

We are very excited to welcome Louisa to the team. Having worked in Norway for 2 years working and training Alaskan Huskies she has great knowledge of dogs of all ages and temperaments and knows how to work with a pack!

The heavens have opened for her first day of training today but we will be out with a smile on our faces so be sure to say hi!

Louisa is booked on for upcoming First Aid Training with to ensure your pups are in the best hands when out on a walk with Take the Lead QT.

With over 50 dogs to meet this week she’s in for a busy one but with more hands on deck means more spaces opening up so be sure to reach out to us if you’d like your pup to join the Take the Lead crew! 🐾

How I’m going to feel on Monday after completing the Milford Track 🤣

You’d think all this walking would prepare me but woo it looks like we’re in for a big weekend.

And just like that I’ve blinked and been back for 2 weeks already!

Big thank you to Liv for keeping all of your pups out on their adventures whilst I was away.

It’s a blessing to be able to come back to NZ as a resident doing a job I absolutely LOVE. These happy doggos do make me smile every day (even when they’re not letting go of the stinky dead rabbit they’ve all found 🤣)

It was so lovely to catch up with friend and family back home for the UK summer but now time for another summer of fun on NZ soil 🐾☀️⛰️🦴

I remember when I started Take the Lead I was warned for the heartbreaks that were to come...

Well it’s safe to say our hearts are broken as DJ is no longer with us.

Liv summed him up perfectly ‘DJ was such a beautiful soul, such a polite gentleman with so much character.’

DJ has been with us from near the start and we have had so many adventures over the years.

So many tears have been shed and our love and hearts are with his family.

Cuddle your fur babies tight.

We love you DJ, I hope you’re still strictly front seat riding and getting all the cuddles up in heaven 💔🪽
