Horse of the year 2024 - Epiton was a superstar pulling off his best test yet to win the Elanco Advanced 6C title class yesterday!
He also won the 4cyte 7yr old dressage horse of the year on Wednesday (he was the only 7yr old but we had some very positive comments and I was super happy with him especially as he’s not actually 7 until April!) and just one mistake in his musical today to end up 4th overall advanced horse of the year.
I’ve been so happy with how he’s coped with such a big atmosphere it’s been a great experience for him, very excited for the future with him 💛

Some of you may remember the surprise foal we had born a couple of days after we got back with his Mum from the last Horse of the Year show, he’s now under saddle and while very much still in the baby phase is the loveliest horse ever! “Elusive Romance VP” (Epiton MD x Furst Romancier x Krack C) ❤️

**to the people saying he needs to live out on the grass I can assure you he has plenty of grass in his paddock that he lives in full time, I just try to not let him eat too much of the lawn as it is short fresh grass full of sugar which is not so good for him**

He’s just such a beautiful horse all round but the thing I am really most impressed with is his temperament, he has really nice energy but isn’t at all hot or spooky, which is definitely my kind of horse 😊

Over the moon with this guy, Epiton won his Prelim test yesterday on 71.4% and his 5yr old test on 75.4%, which was a bit of a step up for him as he’s not actually 5 until April! Was definitely not the nicest conditions but he’s just the easiest, cruisiest young horse ever! Let’s hope it’s a bit drier out today 🤞

Thank you to the amazing group of riders over the last few weeks who have come for some training on Gambado, it is really rewarding seeing how much enjoyment other people get from having the opportunity to ride him!
While I have had other people ride him in the past I wasn’t a hundred percent sure exactly how he was going to handle his new job, but he has been an absolute superstar, bringing himself up or down to different riders abilities.
In fact even though I am now only riding him a couple of times a week myself, he is still feeling as good as ever… so depending on how much time I have I may consider still taking him out to a competition or two next year ⭐️🐴⭐️

My dream horse 💛 we won the 4yr old class today on 82% but most impressive was how chilled out he was about the whole experience!! So proud of him 💛
