Muterus Border Terriers And Precision Bluetick Coonhounds

Muterus Border Terriers And Precision Bluetick Coonhounds 12 years experience so far as a Border Terrier Breeder -home of Imported Bluetick Coonhound from 2021

After first sourcing the perfect pet dog for my young boys I soon became a Border Terrier bug victim. I have spent my time learning all I can from reputable breeders and researching this fantastic breed to ensure I create my lines with sound temperament and type. I am pleased to be offering these qualities to future owners of my line. We enjoy dog sports as a family and train our dogs for many dif

ferent activities - starting with Conformation Showing and moving onto other sports the dogs show a like or talent for to keep them and us entertained - such an array of talents the wee Border Terrier as a Breed has.

2021 saw a lifelong dream come true with my Bluetick Coonhound being imported from Australia. I am beyond excited to promote this new to New Zealand show ring breed !! Come and meet Delta and the rest of the team at a Confirmation show sometime , they would love to meet you x

NZ Champion Muterus Lest We Forget aka Dory D Dog is home for an important 'date', all going to plan in the coming weeks. She is mumma dog of the Guardians of the Galaxy Litter and from the Anzacs litter. Of course she had her coat swiftly sorted as a welcome home present ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ It is pretty speacil to have all 3 of Moons girls, and Dory being the OG Moon/Luke offspring, together for awhile. She's already slotted back into HQ life only arriving on Monday after having not been home since pre covid..jeepers plus 5 years !!!
None of them ever forget where they came from and who kept them safe...it's a privilege I cherish to be able to be the human that loved them first..every single pup ever caught , and to have them remember that is magic๐Ÿ’–โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ’– I am fully aware this particular generation do love the now grown up child handlers the most though so I take the attention when they aren't around because I'm not a feature when they visit ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Nz Champion Muterus Crown Royal aka Whiskey finally got her turn on the grooming table. Her coat is so thick, thanks to her mumma and grandmother, that waiting until it is fully blown is better than plucking a brillo pad ๐Ÿ‘Œ

If you have been in the clan or following my page for any length of time you will well know how much of a role our boys/junior handlers played in our growth as a kennel and ticking up home bred champion titles along our journey. Most of you will also know those boys are now full grown Men ๐Ÿ˜ณ With loss comes gain though right ? ABSOLUTELY; I'm now one very proud Grammy of our next generation of team Muterus; caregiver and handler who got her heirloom show lead I had crafted by the most talented Jo at Leads With Love . Sadie has already helped me with baby proofing the Easter Eggs Litter at all of 5 months old and has grown up with the Coonhounds since they were 8 weeks old ; now she is a whole 12 months old it won't be long until she's whirling around the ring with her soft hands and precious bling ...it's all about the bling โœจ๏ธ ๐Ÿ’–โœจ๏ธ Good news , this also means Grammy is on the quest to craft her the perfect puppy to go with this lead so we eagerly await the girls cycles to get the party really started ๐Ÿ™Œ

Old man lollipop has had his summer shave off...we had to wait for the Mount Taranaki snow to disappear ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ However he was struggling with the heat when it was stinking hot...or horribly humid which is a by product of a shaved coat being the same length top and under coat and non functioning for correct temperature regulation. This is the price I pay for not hand stripping him; however he has spent his youth performing tricks and educating children in dog safety as well as being sire (grand sire, grand grand sire) of many beautiful Muterus pups so is now paying the price for his enthusiasm with old man stiffness ๐Ÿ˜œ so I would rather manage and help him out with his temperature regulation than make him endure hours of handstripping. It's a small price to pay for all he has given over his lifetime ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™

Rest in Peace, Karen Pryor (nรฉe Wylie; May 14, 1932 โ€“ January 4, 2025).

โ€œFear is the enemy of learning. Itโ€™s the negator of joy, the preventer of play, the inhibitor of trust and love. Fear just gets in the way, slows things down, and causes unnecessary pain.โ€ โ€” Karen Pryor

The passing of Karen Pryor, a true pioneer in animal training, profoundly saddens us. Her groundbreaking work in clicker training revolutionized how we interact with animals. Her kindness and passion will be deeply missed.

Karen's work transformed how we understand and communicate with our animal companions. Her legacy of positive reinforcement will continue to inspire generations to come.

In 1871, the rugged beauty of the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas was both a blessing and a challenge. For 10-year-old Ezra, an orphan living with his guardian, the hills and valleys were both a playground and a place of solace after the loss of his parents. On a quiet afternoon, Ezra set out to gather water from a spring that his family had always used, a short trip heโ€™d made many times before. But this time, something went wrong. Ezra didnโ€™t return, and when his guardian realized he was missing, panic set in.

The Ozark hills were wild, with steep inclines, dense forests, and rocky terrain. Ezra, small and unsure of the way, could have wandered off any number of directions, and his guardian feared the worst. The search began, but hours passed, and the mountain trails provided no sign of the boy. As the searchers scoured the area with no luck, they turned to Blue, a Bluetick Coonhound known for his exceptional tracking abilities. Blue had been with Ezra since he was a baby, and his loyalty to the boy was unquestionable.

With his nose to the ground, Blue immediately began to track Ezraโ€™s scent, sniffing the air and following the faint trail through the rugged terrain. The hills of the Ozarks were unforgiving, filled with thick brush and jagged rocks, but Blue moved through them effortlessly. He worked tirelessly, following the trail for hours, determined to bring Ezra back to safety. Every step was deliberate, his eyes focused, his ears alert.

Four hours passed as Blue led the way, climbing over rocks and pushing through dense thickets. He never hesitated, his powerful legs cutting through the rough landscape with a precision only a skilled coonhound could possess. The sun was beginning to dip behind the hills, but Blueโ€™s determination only grew stronger.

Finally, after hours of searching, Blueโ€™s keen nose led him to a narrow stream where Ezra had gotten tangled in thick brush. The boy had fallen and gotten caught in the undergrowth, unable to free himself. He was exhausted, cold, and scared, but he was alive. Ezraโ€™s heart lifted when he saw Blue, his faithful companion standing at the edge of the brush, his tail wagging with relief.

Blue barked loudly, a signal to the searchers who were close behind. When they arrived, they quickly freed Ezra from the brush, relieved to see that he had not been seriously hurt. Thanks to Blueโ€™s unwavering loyalty and exceptional tracking skills, the boy was safe.

Ezraโ€™s guardian, overjoyed to have the boy back, knelt down to thank Blue, who stood calmly by their side. Blueโ€™s work was done, but his love and devotion to Ezra had saved his life that day. The Bluetick Coonhound had proved once again that his courage and determination could overcome any obstacle, no matter how treacherous.

The story of Blue, the Bluetick Coonhound who tracked Ezra through the rugged Ozark hills and brought him home safely, became a cherished tale in the Arkansas mountains. It was a testament to the bond between a dog and a child, a bond that, in this case, was strong enough to lead a hound through the toughest terrain to save a life.

Ezra would always remember the dog who had never given up on him, and the people of the Ozarks would remember the hero who saved the orphan boyโ€”Blue, the brave Bluetick Coonhound. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ’–
