It is important that your pets have a holiday when you are away. I have always seen the Pet Lodge as a holiday camp for your pets. Maybe not all the comforts of home but a great time to be had. About the business owner;
Maree started her working life farming. One of her first jobs after that was a vet nurse, not able to handle people putting their pets to sleep because they said they were "bad" Sh

e thought there must be a better way. Maree ran a boarding kennel for about 5 years and watching the behaviour of the dogs became a passion again. Working with many dogs and their humans was enormously rewarding. It was time to leave the boarding kennels and do what her true passion was. She trained with several dog trainers in New Zealand and overseas. Most of the trainers had different ways to train and anything that would harm the dog was instantly dismissed as nothing learns well when in pain and that just made her feel sick. She has done several dog training courses and is always looking at what is happening in the world of dog training. Maree found what has worked with her beliefs and caring nature. Treat training didn't make sense as she had never used it as a child and those animals would do anything for her, also pets don't give each other treats to explain things or train. It is all about going back to nature, understanding your dog, using love and praise. Over the past 27 years of training some things have changed and she is always open to learning new things, however the core of the respect training has stayed the same. Dog training is more than a job it is a passion and as Maree explains it is who she is.

Between these hours is an out of hours fee. you can make a $45 appointment

Please do not ask for After hours as it will be refused, After 5.30pm.

I have just found this online and I call BU****IT on it.
Yes you need to be gentle with your new rescue however if you do the 3-3-3 it turns into years of not feeling safe. Before you get your new dog home make sure you have decided ALL the new rules. Things like; not on the furniture till invited, make them hunt for their own food like scatter feeding etc, do not give them sympathy at all ever! yes a bit of empathy is ok. Treat your rescue with the same boundaries right from the start so it feels safe. I am over people saying "my dog is a rescue" and using that as an excuse not to train them. Be responsible and make your new dog feel safe. Yes some of them have trauma and you might need a behavior trainer to help with that.
