Week 5 was full of different kids of all ages socialising with the pups. They are doing great with all kinds of raw food, getting into routines, keeping their sleeping arrangements clean, being outside and starting their agility play🥰

It was a big week 3 for Lucy’s litter. They made the move into the living room after getting big enough to climb out of their whelping box, and I borrowed the neighbours pram and took some of them to the nursing home while they were still small enough to sleep through it. They inspired a lot of smiles and reminiscences for the residents and were quite a hit. It was pretty special❤️

Meet Moses, newest member of the pack. I imported him from the USA in June. I have missed doing therapy work since my beautiful Denny passed away. He is from an amazing breeder who breeds for therapy characteristics. Only a couple weeks after he arrived he was assessed and approved by Canine Friends and has finished one series of reading programmes last term and is ready to start a new series this term. He goes weekly to a nursing home to brighten the residents day. He’s absolutely a wonderful boy and it’s my prayer he will be a real blessing to many.

Saying goodbye to my Aussie rainbow today. The last of Kenai’s beautiful pups are heading home. I am so thankful again for the amazing owners of all our pups. I tell the pups each night when I put them to bed that they are going to be a blessing. They seem to end up in the right homes where they fit right in and do become the blessing that (in my biased opinion) only comes from the unique bond between an Australian Shepherd and their person.

I had been thinking today I wanted to post some puppy updates with videos from all the amazing new owners doing great things with their pups already. But then I got this picture and I have to post it instead. Batman (now Navy) learned how to open the door from his cat brother. Went outside into freshly poured concrete. You can see by his face that he was the innocent victim in this crime, the cat is definitely responsible!!😊

These four beauties from Lucy’s litter are looking for their forever homes. Two girls and two boys. Full of personality. One of the males is very much a gentleman like Clancey. One is not! He is full of beans. Both girls are really quick to figure things out, one has the personality of a born leader - very mature, she walks around and rules the others like they are all her children. The other is just really inquisitive, wants to be where the action is and loves challenges. All of them are your typical beautiful Aussies and all are raised the way we do it - lots of socialisation, raw food diet and really intentional about providing appropriate stimulus. Did you see Viking, an Australian Shepherd just won the Crufts dog show? His is the first pic. This is the second time an Aussie has ever won the world’s biggest dog show. The first time was 2006 when Caitland Isle Take A Chance won it. Ellie’s puppies are all related to Chance, the second pic. They may not be standing next to a big silver cup but here are some favourite photos of ones who are champions in my book❤️. Stevie, Remi, Hank, Gabe, Arlo, Ollie, Teddy, Jess, Rosie and my boy Benji.

Sometimes it takes a village … as I was changing Lucy’s whelping pen blanket Clancey and Ellie jumped at the chance to take care of her puppies. One big happy family❤️. Lucy X Clancey Immanuel litter (conceived Christmas Eve).

Just loading them back into the truck after a walk this morning and I was struck by the gorgeous eyes staring at me. Dark brown, blue and hazel. Aussies come with some amazing, beautiful variety in colouring but what makes an Aussie an Aussie is their breed characteristics. By nature, not by colour, they are the most faithful, intelligent, loyal, eager dogs on the planet.❤️

I LOVE LOVE LOVE when people keep me updated! I couldn’t help but ask if I could share this pic of Teddy obviously having no trouble settling in. He, along with all the pups, have to be thanking their lucky stars for their amazing new families! And Teddy did his first school visit today too. Super proud of this - especially on the day the library rejected me bringing in mine😊. Khesed, my kennel name, means “loyal love in action” and that’s my prayer always, that my pups would bless people through the amazing loyal love that is so unique to dogs!

The pups who haven’t left yet had a great Thanksgiving with the youth group (happy Thanksgiving everyone), met their first calves today, are doing great at meeting new friendly dogs, have been on two field trips to the soccer fields and one to the beach, and have learned sit, wait, come and shake. At their second vet visit Dr Justin raved about their condition, coats, hips and elbows, (proud mama) and all in all they just keep bringing joy. Gonna miss these fluff balls.

Khesed Matariki litter. It’s a bittersweet day as we start to say goodbye❤️. Our final outing together was visiting a nursing home to give residents some puppy love. Then Arlo went off to his wonderful new home to start his new life as an only dog. He will love it!

8 weeks old! First visit to meet big, older dogs, baby play date, big dogs try to escape the pups, another trip to get used to the airport, youth group cuddles, Arlo hangs out in the bath, taking time to smell the flowers, nobody is impressed by the new water toy, one new home visit, kids, kids and more kids. Happy puppies❤️
