We are so excited to announce the establishment of the Vet Post Charitable Trust and Mr. Snippy program 🐱🐶

The Vet Post Charitable Trust has been established to address animal welfare issues in the Bay of Plenty. Our first program, "Mr. Snippy," aims to reduce the stray cat and dog population through desexing, vaccinating and microchipping pets, reducing disease outbreaks, and improving the ability to find lost pets.

But we need your help getting it off the ground! We need donations to get our mobile trailer built and kitted out :) We know times are tough at the moment, but we would LOVE it if you could share this post to as many people as possible, because someone out there will be able to give us the donations we need :)

Contrary to popular belief, avocados are not toxic to dogs 🥰

The pips can cause a blockage, so obviously avoid those! And in large quantities they can cause gastrointestinal issues such as vomiting, diarrhoea and pancreatitis.

They are high in fat, so it’s recommended only as a treat or small part of the meal 🐶

🐴 Winter Hydration Alert for Horse Owners! 🥶💧

As the cold weather sets in, don't let your horse's hydration slide! Horses drink less in winter, but they still need plenty of water to avoid dehydration and health issues like colic. Make sure their water is at a comfy drinking temperature and consider using Kentucky Equine Research's Drink-Up to encourage them to drink more. It's tasty for them and easy to use for you! Great for stabled horses and those who are travelling

For those of you who remember, a little over 4 years ago we raised some money and went over to Australia to help during the horrific fires.

Today we were privileged to revisit Waterholes Sanctuary in East Gippsland, one of the many areas affected during that time. It brought tears to my eyes to see the incredible regeneration that’s happened - the place looks beautiful. And of course we were lucky to hang out with some of the latest rescues 🐨 🦘

This ANZAC day, we want to honour the courageous souls who served our country, and the animals that served alongside them.

This images shows members of the NZ Rifle Brigade with their faithful companion, Caesar. Caesar, the brave bulldog, was a Red Cross dog trained to locate wounded men on the battlefield. Caesar was loyal to his troops until the end, and was tragically killed in action alongside a solider at the battle of Somme. His bravery and dedication will forever be etched in history, a testament to the bond between humans and animals in times of conflict.

As we reflect on the sacrifices of those who served, we also extend our gratitude to all those who continue to serve our country, both two-legged and four-legged alike.
