Hi all, hope everyone is staying safe and not getting blown away in this windy weather! Just a quick message to let you all know that Comfy Cats will be closed from 8th - 11th December 2024. This will give this owner and her furchild a much needed break before the craziness of the Christmas and New Year Period.
For those of you booked in during the Christmas period I will be contacting you next month just to check that there hasn't been any change in your circumstances.

Give your furbabies all a pat (and a cuddle if they allow hehe) from Aunty Abby and Flower! And as always thank you for your continued support.

Update: Fabulous news everyone. Darling Sasha has found her new furever home. I just know her and her new mum will be so happy together and are the purr-fect fit. Thank you for sharing and for your help in ensuring a happy ending for this wonderful little girl.

Hi all, I don't normally do this but posting on behalf...
Due to a change in circumstances, sadly wee Sasha needs a new furever home. She is a dear wee cat who loves nothing more than a cuddle and to curl up next to you or in your lap. During her holidays at Comfy Cats, she is always super clean (not a single accident) and eats well. She is the model guest 😻🥰 please if you or someone you know would be keen to give this lovely girl a new home let me know and I can pass details on.

Exciting news...the wait is finally over! I'm pleased to confirm that our little children's book on Flower's island adventures is now available to purchase. Available here at Comfy Cats and also at the Berry Barn Bakery in Geraldine. Pick up your copy for $17.99.
We hope that you enjoy our book as much as Flower and I enjoyed writing it 🥰🐶🐾

Hi all, hope everyone and their furbabies are well and keeping warm! Just a quick post to let you know that this crazy cat lady is taking a well earnt short break so the cattery will not be taking any additional bookings from the 19th - 22nd June. Pre-existing bookings don't stress! Your babies will be well looked after and loved by Aunty and Uncle who will be managing things while I am away, and of course Flower will still be here to supervise things 😉🥰 Thank you all for your continued support!

Hi all, sharing on behalf of a friend who has lost one of her beloved furbabies. He went missing from his home on Buckleys Terrace on 16th November and still has not returned from his adventure yet. So after many hours of drawing cats, cutting, laminating and cutting again the Comfy Cats 'Wall of Fame' noticeboard is now up and ready to go. Can't wait to start getting the photos of your gorgeous furbabies up! If you would prefer that your furbaby photo does not go on the wall then please just let me know. Let's celebrate our precious wee furchildren and their different paw-sonalities :)
Also, just a quick shoutout to DPI/EmbroidMe for my wonderful workshirts - great service, comfortable shirts and perfect image :)

Hi all, just a couple of important notices as there have been a number of people asking about prices and hours so just wanted to clarify for everyone.
For those of you who have visited Comfy Cats over the past 6 weeks you would have seen the notice up on the door regarding price changes (due to increased costs) but for those of you who I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting I thought it would be useful to get word out to you on here.
As of 1st of March, the price per night for a single cat will be increasing slightly to $15. Prices per night for 2 cats (from the same family) sharing a unit will also be increasing to $25 per night.

Pick up and drop-off hours will be anytime between 8am-10am OR 4pm-6pm. This will allow me to get my personal jobs done without fear of missing someone who has called around to collect or drop off their furbaby. I would ask that anything outside of these hours will need to be negotiated and organised in advance.

Hi all, huge apologies if you were trying to get hold of me over the weekend (Friday 3rd Feb - Sunday 5th Feb lunchtime) on the landline. It has come to my attention that I was having technical problems and it appears that I wasn't able to receive any incoming calls nor did it cut to my answerphone. Thanks to the couple of people who mentioned this so I was able to rectify it. Many apologies as I was unaware of the problem but the good news is all is fixed now and we are back up and running this week!

Hi all,

Thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new owner of Comfy Cats Cattery. My name is Abby and I have to say that this exciting new venture for me really is a dream come true.

I grew up on a farm in Carew and have always had a passion for animals. You name it and its most likely I had one as a beloved pet at some point.
I studied a Bachelor of Science at Otago University, followed by my Diploma of Teaching (Secondary Education) and have spent the past 3 years teaching Science and Biology in Rarotonga. When it was time to return home and the opportunity to chase my dreams of working with animals and owning a cattery arose I was quick to jump at the chance.

This is my first time running a cattery however I have a wealth of experience of house and pet sitting both in the local area and in Auckland. I loved this but there reached a point when there was only so long that I could live out of a suitcase.

I do also want to acknowledge and thank Marg and Stan who helped with the transition as I took over the business and to my parents who have been so incredibly supportive and helpful.

I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby(s) and thank you for your continued support of Comfy Cats.
