A massive thank you to all the volunteers who jumped in and helped out at a moment's notice to make this huge vent possible, all those who helped prepare dogs, and Heidi Holmes who opened her salon for many out-of-town groomers to prepare their dogs in and Dan Ysrael Corum for bringing along his mobile van to use.
There are so many other people to thank I am sure, and my super apologies if I have not mentioned you above but one last shout out to the ladies who made this so special.

Sheila Morris, Verna Holland, Cathy Wallace and
Theresa Peacock has dedicated literal decades to NGANZ giving their time and care freely to the education and certification of groomers.

Lisa Hart who traveled 40 hours to get to New Zealand gave amazing seminars and really cared for and nurtured our competitors with her critiques and comments.

May Wong who in her first time in New Zealand jumped in like a pro with huge grooming knowledge and amazing judging. These ladies even rolled up their sleeves to get work done and pack up achieved in record time.

Honestly, I could not have hoped for more (Except for maybe the injury thing lol)

Simply amazing !!!

We have a few very sad competitors whose Asian Fusion dogs have had to be scratched from the Friday night comp for varying reasons.

Please if you know of any suitable dogs let us know asap and make a groomer smile :D

It's getting close now!!!

The facility is sending a caterer along for the three days where you can buy food - sandwiches, rolls, etc etc but you are also welcome to bring your own food and (non alcoholic) drinks in with you.
Sadly we have been let down with a coffee truck, but we will have "help yourself" tea and coffee available.

Shopping payment options... different for each vendor.
Put it on your wholesae account
Some may have mobile eftpos machines
Bring cash
Pay by bank transfer on site direct to the vendors accounts

When you arrive at reception, you will be given different coloured wrist bands for weekend, we will make them loose enough to shower in to make registration as pain free as possible each day.
Once you you have your coloured wrist band, you can come in and out as you like (for what you have purchased)
No tag means not paid - as in Friday evening after 5pm where payment is not required.

Anyone is also able to come in on Sunday at 3.30pm for free to watch the Prizegiving :)

This is where we stand so far... 59 fabulous grooms over the weekend plus model dogs, and model dog heads.

These numbers may change as they sometimes do, but we do need some ENTRY LEVEL - SHOW STYLE competitors - come on Entry level's, grab a terrier and let's get stripping !!!

Hey guys, don't forget your kids can have some fun too!!! All children 15 and under will get free entry with their adult and can also enter the Model dog head comp!!!!

It's a great way to get them involved so they can grow up to be a dog groomer and look after you in your retirement lol

Just a reminder for all competitors to check the rules and ask any questions you need clarifying.
The rules are subject to updating for clarification purposes so please ensure you read and reread.

Amended rule today was added around ear hair curling for Asian Fusion

If a competitor wishes to curl ears, they may be…
- wrapped before the competition starts with all curlers to be removed before tools down at the end
- curled during the competition with a curling iron - providing it is done safely

Less than 5 weeks to go!!!

There are still a couple of competition spaces left each day, but not many so if you were planning to attend, but find your particular slot is sold out, please message me in case I can swap a couple around (e.g. Show style to pet style)

Remember you must have a ticket for the correct day to compete as we only have a set amount of spaces
Tickets through eventbrite - members may enter comp free with your purchased entry ticket

Want to book a stall at Groomalong 2023?

Here's how...
Go to the google dog for sponsorship and stalls and scroll down to see the site plan.

You can choose who you want to be set up near and what position you want.

The stalls for the "Feel good area" will be laid out once we know how much interest we have in coming along...

All stall sizes can be made bigger... pricing is based on 3x3 metre stall for $450 for the weekend and can be made as big as you want for $150 for every extra 1x3 metre purchased

If you want to be able to do a lot of talking at your stall or playing videos etc, you are best to choose stalls furthest away from the competition and seminar side of the hall so you can keep selling at all times without disruption 😃

Early bird entry sales are whizzing along so we are looking forward to a great event with lots of shopping!

Early bird tickets on sale now !!!

The first 75 three-day ticket holders will get a seminar bag from our sponsors. Get in quickly as these wont last long.

Sponsors are yet to be announced, so if you are interested in having a stall (entry fee to the weekend included in stall holder fee) or you want to sponsor some of our great competition classes, please let us know :)

Just choose what you want...

They are split into -
NGANZ Members
Non-Members

Then, you can choose if you want to come to all 3 full days (which includes seminars etc)

Or if you want just an individual full day (still including seminar)
Or if you want to just pop in for a morning to watch the grooming competition (great for dog owners) and shopping

If you are competing... you will also need a competing ticket for that particular day...

Eg... if you want to come all 3 days and you are a member, you choose that ticket and then if you also want to compete in Pet Style on Saturday, you just choose the additional ticket for that.

All comps are in the morning - all seminars are after lunch, so morning only tickets wont ever include seminars.

The only other different one - is Asian Fusion on the Friday night which is free to all regardless of what entry ticket you hold

NGANZ presents an amazing groomer from MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA with her first time in New Zealand MAY WONG!

May Wong is an all-rounder groomer. She owns and runs a successful grooming salon in Melbourne, Australia – M Dog Grooming Salon. Some of May’s achievements in the dog grooming industry include winning multiple Best In Show and Best In Group awards in grooming competitions.

She was nominated for Barkleigh USA's Foreign Groomer of The Year 2020. May will be representing Australia, grooming in the Spaniels and Setters category at the next World Team Grooming Championship.

May is also actively involved in the dog show world. She has professionally presented, handled and awarded Multi BIS awards with her Miniature Poodles and Welsh Terrier. May is also involved with the American Cocker Spaniels, Wire Fox Terrier and Bedlington Terriers.

NGANZ is proud and delighted to present our first judge and seminar speaker for Wellingtons Groomalong this year

The amazingly talented and charming LISA HART from MANCHESTER, ENGLAND

Lisa Hart Is an award-winning groomer from the UK with over 15 years of experience in grooming.
She specializes in Asian fusion styles and terriers and was named Asian fusion groomer of the year in 2019.
She regularly competes in Asian classes and has multiple placings up to champion level and RBIS.

She holds her City and Guilds level 3 dog grooming diploma her PTTLS in teaching and is currently working towards her ICMG masters qualification.

She has recently been traveling all over the world to teach Asian Fusion and Judge at grooming competitions and is very excited to meet the groomers of New Zealand.
