šŸ’› Ezra’s Health Update šŸ’›

We’re so relieved to share that little Ezra is doing so much better! This brave boy, at only 5 weeks old, had to go through a tough procedure to treat a nasty UTI — poor guy had the smallest catheter possible inserted into his tiny pen*s(when it could be found) to clear all the gunk. He also had to had to have a needle poked into his bladder to syringe all the festering smelly mess out. Thanks to the amazing care from his foster mum Sarah Clarke and our wonderful vet Leanne from Vet Trust Henderson who doesnt give up until she has an answer, he’s now fully recovered.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to help cover his vet bills — your kindness truly made a difference! šŸ™

Ezra and his siblings will be at our Adoption Day this Sunday at the Kumeu Community Hall — come say hi to the little man and see how far he’s come! šŸ’•

Hi everyone, I’m Marcus šŸ¦“šŸ©µšŸ’š

I’m a border collie x aged roughly 5/6yrs.

I love other dogs, my foster family has me enrolled in a doggy daycare where I spend my days exploring and hanging out with other dogs.
I was surrendered to my foster family in October 2024, after running away several times and being picked up on the main road. I was taken to the vet, my microchip was scanned, and the owner was contacted. After being collected by my owner, I continued to escape. Finally, my owner no longer came back to pick me up.
I am an energetic, loving boy who only wants to please and be loved. I do need lots of exercise and would suit a family with energetic teenagers to play with or someone interested in dog sports such as agility or flyball.
I’m fostered in Muriwai, Auckland
I’m microchipped and registered with NZCAR
I’m desexed and fully vaccinated.
I’m house trained and eager to find my forever family šŸ”

Adoption fee covers: My desexing, all my vaccinations, microchip registered to NZCAR, up to date worm and flea, a week of my food, my collar, harness and lead, my blankie, favorite toy but most importantly ME. You can fill in the adoption form then come and meet me as soon as you can. Don’t forget the treats, love Marcus xx

Hi everyone I’m Xavier šŸ»šŸ¤ŽšŸ‚
I was born with my 6 siblings on a wet cold rainy night in the middle of winter. My mum Delilah had been looking for a safe place to have us and found a hole under a hedge. Thankfully Paws restart came out and scooped us all up, she took us to a lovely lady called Sarah who gave us warm blankets, toys and most importantly lots of food for mum.

That was 7weeks ago and the humans keep saying, ā€œin a week you’ll be ready to go to your own forever homeā€

Just because I’m the first and last at the dinner bowl for every meal doesn’t mean they should call me ā€˜CHUBBY CHOPS’. I like to be at the front of the pack and take everyone exploring, I only have little dumpy legs so we don’t go far.
I love my brothers and sisters but really, the dinner bowl is not big enough for two. I’m really looking forward to joining your family where I hope you understand a growing lad like me needs sustenance, on a regular schedule.

DOB: 26th August 2025
Mixed Breed medium to large
Male
Good with cats and other dogs
I will be fully vaccinated with parvo, lepto and kc.
I’m microchipped and registered with NZCAR
I will be desexed when old enough
Fostered in Kumeu
Home Recommendation: I think I would do well in most home situations, as long as you have a fully fenced area for me to run around in. I would really like an older doggy mate to teach me how to dog. While I’m this little I can’t be left alone for too long and we have to go to puppy training school.

Adoption fee covers: Desexing when I’m ready, all my vaccinations, microchip registered to NZCAR, up to date worm and flea, a week of my food, my collar, harness and lead, my blankie, favorite toy but most importantly ME. You can fill in the adoption form then come and meet me as soon as you can. Don’t forget the treats, love Chubs xx

Saw this at another page and borrowed.
I encourage you to read it if you are considering adopting a puppy:

- No breeder or rescue escapes this moment: the phone buzzes a few days after a puppy leaves, with a message you could almost recite by heart:

ā€œWe love him, butā€¦ā€

Ah, the infamous but.

But he barks. But he nips. But he cries at night. But he’s ā€œtoo energetic.ā€

In short, he’s alive. And for some, that’s already too much.
A puppy isn’t a living stuffed animal or a personal antidepressant. It’s a baby mammal, uprooted from its maternal world, thrown into the unknown. It will bark, cry, explore, and stress—and that’s normal.

Modern humans, however, don’t like disturbance. They want everything fast: their coffee, their phone, even their puppy’s ā€œadaptation.ā€ They forget a puppy’s brain is still learning emotional regulation through experience, not downloads or miracle TikTok tricks.

So overwhelmed families write: ā€œHe’s adorable, but he’s not for us.ā€ Translation: We wanted a dog without the challenges of a puppy.
Even the best-raised puppies are still learning. They arrive ready to learn to love, not pre-programmed to love. And learning requires time, consistency, and emotional steadiness—qualities many humans no longer possess.

Some confuse the perfect puppy with the compliant puppy—obedient to their schedule, whims, or noise tolerance. When that fails, blame follows: the breeder or rescue, the breed, the dog’s ā€œcharacter.ā€ And suddenly normal puppy behavior becomes a ā€œproblem.ā€

We absorb it all, taking back puppies ā€œreturned due to lifestyle incompatibility,ā€ re-socialising them, and repairing broken bonds. They brush trembling little muzzles and remind themselves: humans think they can adopt without adapting.

Living with a puppy is chaos before harmony. It’s the noise, the smells, the nips, the accidents, the doubts. It’s biology, not magic.
A puppy isn’t a test, a trial, or a gift. It’s a living commitment. What it becomes depends on you: balanced if you are, anxious if you are.
And if you’re not ready to give up your slippers and certainties for a few months? Adopt a plant instead. It never chews your shoes, and it doesn’t cry at night.

Hi everyone, I’m Nola šŸ¦‹šŸ©µšŸ«

I was born on the 26th August 2025 in a hole under a hedge in the middle of the night. Thankfully a lady came out and gained my mummy’s trust and we were taken to a nice warm house. We were given blankets, toys but even better we got to stay together 🧸 I’ve been told I’m the runt of the pack.

That was 7weeks ago and I keep hearing in one week I’ll be ready to go to my forever home šŸ˜ as much as I love my siblings I’m so excited to be find my forever humans.
I’m a mixed breed and even though my mummy is a medium size dog, I don’t know anything about my daddy so I’ll say I’ll grow to be a medium to large breed 🐶.

My foster home is filled with love from small children, cats and there’s even another dog that my mummy lets us hang out with. I’ve been told I’m a timid wee girl and can be quite shy. I would love a home that teaches me the world isn’t such a scary place and can bring me out of my shell at my pace ā˜ŗļø
