Tips for not jumping up;
Don't make jumping up exciting.
It is something that we do without meaning to, I often see people raise their voices and wave their arms around saying 'no, no' or 'stop ' or 'down', pushing the dog off. To a dog this is often misread as excitement coming from you, it is attention and can even be interperated as play, by doing these things we also reinforce to our dog that jumping up is fun.
One way you can address this is:
Aim to ignore your dog if they jump up. Don't say anything, use your body language to discourage your dog from jumping on you. As soon as your dog has all four feet back on the floor reward them with affection, attention, food or a toy/game and teach them that good things only happen when their feet are all on the floor.
Another way we can address this is to keep our dogs on leash until they have learnt not to jump on people. This is a more time consuming method but it is incredibly effective as we are able to physically show our dog what we want without allowing them to get into the habit of jumping on people and possibly accidently reinforcing/rewarding the behavior we don't want, it also prevents them from even making a mistake which means we don't need to corect them.
There are many ways we can teach our dogs and it is important to remember that every dog is an individual. Some things may work for some dogs and some may need a different approach, don't be discouraged. Learn from your dog.

Excuse my hand over the camera😅
Notice him slow down to match my pace and keep a loose leash? Such a pleasure to walk💖💕
Cancellations, No Shows & Lateness can leave us unable to fill a spot and as a small business, this can have a huge impact.
No shows and lateness where we can no longer accept the dog, (15 minutes or more), will incur cancelation or late fees. Fees will need to be paid in full BEFORE the next groom or training session can be scheduled. We do not enjoy implementing this however it is necessary to keep our business operating.
