Untangler Brushes - The secret to a brushed out pet without the pain and discomfort. It's all in the free spinning brush and comb pins.

A recent testimonial from a New Zealand Untangler user:
"I thought I would write and let you know just how good the Untangler brush is. I have 5 Rough Collies, my boy is dropping his coat and I have been using this brush. I have arthritis in my hands as well, but this brush has been amazing. It doesnt damage the hair or upset him while using it."

Made in the USA. Ensure that brushing is an enjoyable experience for you and your beloved pet:

At Home Dog Grooming - Reinvented!

The “Untangler” brand of dog and cat brushes and combs is now available in New Zealand! (Wide selection but very limited numbers of each at the moment).

We’ve been using these for the past few years on our beloved pets (imagine 4 large double-coated, long-haired rough coat collies and 3 long and short—haired cats) and find them to be a complete game changer in terms of brushing out our pets.

The secret is 360 degree rotating stainless steel round, smooth teeth. Instead of pulling and pushing through fur, and mats, the pins slide along, spin and work with the hair, resulting in much less pain and discomfort for your pet. They are made in the USA (we have visited the factory personally) of safe and high quality ingredients.

-Less pulling
-Massage and stimulate skin with round, smooth tips
-Free floating rotating stainless steel teeth spin 360 degrees
-High quality parts made with precision in the USA
-Comfortable to hold and use
-Easily disinfected and won’t tarnish

Sharing with our VetConsults family, as they have been a life-saver in the way we groom our furry family and have always wished they were available here in New Zealand.

Now they are! You can get them here:

Hello VetConsults Family!

We have an absolutely amazing product for you with high, quality ingredients such as green-lipped mussel, steak, chicken, and beef. It absolutely changed the way we feed our dogs! It can be used for that fussy eater in your family or as a way to turn their dry kibble into a warm, gourmet feast for that extra little treat. I've seen many fussy dogs where the ONLY thing that works time and again is this Instant Powdered Gravy.

It's made from human grade ingredients (each batch can be QR code scanned to see the actual ingredients that were put into your jar), New Zealand made, easy to dissolve, convenient, has a long shelf life, and does not interfere with most specialty diets.

There is a low fat and low sodium variety (chicken flavour) so it does not interfere with any prescription diets.

Dogs (and even my cats) LOVE it!

All flavours are available on the VetConsults Store:

Hello VetConsults Family!

Lucy is getting much bigger by the day, and that means it is time to think about kitten care: vaccinations and deworming!

VACCINATIONS:
Kittens get antibodies against disease that mum was vaccinated against in the first 16-24 hours of life, while nursing. Because Lucy was found in a paddock by herself, we have no idea if she had a vaccinated mum, or how well she nursed in that first day.

With all kittens, we vaccinated them starting at 6-8 weeks of age for the core kitten diseases, once again 4 weeks later, followed by a third and final vaccine at 16 weeks (or greater). This ensures that we capture those kittens that are from an unvaccinated mum or have not had a good drink of colostrum early in the course, but also adequately protect those that have a very high immunity from mum (which decrease over time and stops completely by 16 weeks of age).

DEWORMING:
Kittens need to be dewormed starting at 2 weeks of age, and every two weeks afterward until 12 weeks. This will then go to monthly until 6 months of age, followed by every three months as an adult. This is important to prevent roundworms in kittens (often transferred from the mother's milk) and tapeworms in older cats (and also in kittens that have fleas).

Finding the correct product at the correct dose is very important. If you have any questions or need any help, book in a consult or e-mail a vet on www.vetconsults.co.nz.

Hello VetConsults Family!

Little Lucy at a little over two weeks old decided that Callum is hers! He has taken his role very seriously and keeps very still when she goes to sleep burrowed in his fur and makes sure to clean her from head to toe. Could not have asked for a better guardian for an orphaned little neonate kitten!

Cuteness overload!

Hello VetConsults Family!

Meet Lucy!

Lucy was found by a member of the public, abandoned in a paddock in the soaking rain. She came in crying, wet, cold, and covered in maggots on the lower half of her body from a wound under her tail, weighing in at only 220 grams!

Dry, warm, and clean, here she is "holding" a warm bottle of kitten milk. She's no bigger than the palm of your hand!

Neonate care is an important part of keeping kittens healthy and growing, especially without mum to take care of little Lucy.

More updates to come ... as she has now become the newest member of our beloved family!

Hello VetConsults Family!

Many of you will be aware and have heard of the devastation in Tonga from the volcanic eruption and ensuing tsunami this past weekend. But this one hits quite a bit closer to home. Back in 2019, I had the privilege to spend a few weeks in Tonga with South Pacific Animal Welfare (SPAW), where I met Angela Glover and her husband James. Together, they owned Happy Sailor Tattoo and were the guardian angels for Tonga's many animals (there is no veterinarian or veterinary care on Tonga).

This past weekend, the world (and Tonga's animal community) lost an angel. Angela was swept away by the tsunami and lost her life while trying to save her dogs. It was an absolutely privilege spending time with and getting to know this wonderful person, and to hear the passion with which she spoke about the animals of Tonga. She has founded the Tongan Animal Welfare Society (TAWS) and has been an unending voice for the voiceless, making sure that every animal, no matter how sick, how old, how young, how challenging, always had the best care that she and those around her could provide.

She was loved by many, made an impact on every person she met, and will be missed more than she could have ever imagined.

Both SPAW and TAWS are collecting donations that will go to help Tonga's animals in their time of need and to continue Angela's work and legacy. If you can help in any small way, the links below will allow you to do so. Any small amount makes a huge difference to those animals in need:
