Well were back in level 4 .... and all 3 of us are essential workers, Shev right in the thick of calving and Britt and Alex still saving animals lives.
However this weekend we have all been able to enjoy our horses and even whip out a set of clippers. Although none of us can currently see eachother excitment of the season ahead is in full swing.

This week my work mates got the pleasure to geld my newest addition (I'm sure they were thrilled) our lovely tech was able to use sky to help her with some skills for her assessments. And others vets came for a refresher in geldings. Lauren did an amazing job with sky and he even still loves her. ❤ thanks team, you guys are the best xx

Gemtime SA Dance Monkey

And suitably named as what a cheeky monkey this handsome blue eye lad is, the largest of the team in the Cat c ring.

Lightly shown this last season and certainly with fantastic results he has earned his spot for the 2021/22 show season. Let’s just hope his antics don’t ruin it lol 😂 but it may come in handy when he starts jumping fault and out. Last seasons he took on a full height stable door as a yearling and almost cleared it with Alex catching him mid air 🤦‍♀️

Tiny Tots Shakira

We have admired this girl since the day her little hoves hit earth. Daughter to our handsome SWS Inceptions Code Blue.

August last year we got the pleasure to purchase this beautiful young lady.
Kira come out and joind out show team this past season and we couldnt be more proud of her successes, brings home many wides, including a supreme and runner up supreme.

Kira will join the show team again for 2021/22 before going In foal 😊.

Kira has a sweet kind nature and is a pleasure to do everything with.

Thank you so much to Sara Frew for breeding such a beautiful girl and having your trust in us to give her a new forever home 🥰

Last weekend we attended the North Otago A&P show. This is one of our favourite shows of the season as we get to enjoy halter and performance classes.

Sadly Sinner decided for us that he wasnt going to be attending this year and instead had the after hours vet out paying him a visit on friday night. Thankfully hes doing well now and on the mend.

Kira, Blue, Beau and Beadin all showed there little hearts out and did us proud.
Beau and beaudin placed very well in all there classes against some tough competition.

Highlights were

SWS Inceptions Code Blue getting 1st age, 1st colour 2nd (maybe) movement, 1st trail, 1st showmanship, 1st jumping and 1st fault and out, Reserve Champion Cat B and overall high points performance.

Tiny Tots Shakira getting 2nd presented, 1st age, 1st color, Champion Cat B and taking out Supreme Miniature. This girl has improved with every show and I'm so obsessed with her. Thanks to Sara for letting me purchase this stunning girl.

A massive thank you to the North Otago A&P assn for another fantastic show. Also to Canter for Cancer for thr supreme rug and Maxcapture for the garlands ❤

Wowsers what a weekend! the crew just attended the AIMHCNZ South Island championship / Southern Alps show, 3 days of showing and we had a fantastic time.
Although we cant remember all of the horses exact placings here are some highlights.

I want to thank everyone involved in the organising of the show, SAM club shows are always so fun to attend, with so much laughter, smiles and antics.
I would also like to thank our team members, without our teamwork show days wouldnt run so smoothly.
Also a massive thankyou to Kay and Mouse for your hospitality, always so nice to see you guys and catch up. And a big thankyou to all the sponsors for your lovely garlands and prizes.

The kids are happy to be home and we are all looking forward to our next outing.

Day one done for the team and we are so proud of all 3 boys. Results to come after day 3 but here is our lovely blue giving it his all jumping Upto 1 meter in fault and out 🥰.
We had an amazing day and cant wait to have another fun filled day tomorrow.

Yesterday we attended the Southern Canterbury A&P show in Waimate.

SWS Rockin Da Boat (beaudin) showed beautifully but sadly wasnt to the judges taste but we are so proud at how far this man has come and also with his placings up against some beautiful horses. 🤩

Tiny Tots Shakira (Kira) well let's just say she takes after her dad more and more everyday 😂, Kira was full of spirit and also did well for her 2nd outing with us.
1st presented, 3rd age, 3rd movement, 1st female head and 4th colour 🥰

SWS Double Identity (Beau). We could not be more happy with how our wee man is maturing both mentally and physically 😂. Beau was shown by his number 1 fan Britt.
2nd presented, 1st age, 2nd Male head, 1st colour and Reserve Chanpion Cat B

SWS Inceptions Code Blue (Blue), Well the judge mistakenly took for a stallion ..... think that says enough about his spirits yesterday 🤦‍♀️. Although he was sassy he did very well.
1st age, 1st male head, 1st trail Champion Cat B and then blowing me away bringing home Supreme Miniatiure horse.

Huge thanks to Southern Canterbury A&P assn and also to Deb Blakeley for making the lovely garlands.

Also a big thanks to Britt and Jack for being great helps and good sports 🥰

Last weekend we attended the Mill creek mini show in Ashburton.

SWS Simply the Best (kasey) was lucky enough to be an only child on this trip and absolutely loved being the only one getting fussed over by both his mum and auntie.

Kasey did us proud placing highly in all his classes and bringing home champion miniature horse. He also held his own beautiful in the supreme line up against the bigger ponies.

A big thank you to Mill Creek pony club for having us and holding a miniature ring.

I got told the other day by a friend that they are awaiting our next introduction... so here goes.

SWS Inceptions Code Blue.

Alex's pride and joy.
He has been described 3 times in 2 weeks that hes like a fine wine that gets better with age, and I tend to agree.

Blue is one special kid. Hes sassy, spunky, lazy, kind, dicky and everything in between but we couldn't imagian our team without him.
Blue wont be out as much this season but when he is it will be so enjoyable.

Along with Sinner, blue is also a multi supreme champion.

Blue has 4 beautiful children, 2 of which are owned by lil Oaks.

Blue is Alex's one in a million and always brings her so much joy.

Gemtime Rebals Lil Sinner

Hes beauty, hes grace, hes sass
Hes a one in a million.
Sinner is Shevelles pride and joy, and man on man are they a pleasure to watch.
Shev knew as soon as she saw photos of Sinner as a foal that he was that horse, that's horse that she couldn't picture her life without.
They have gone from strength to strength over the past 8 years.
Let's be honest we could talk about the handsome man all day.
Harness has become there zen, they both get so much joy trotting down the lane way on the farm and strutting there stuff in the show ring.
Sinner had his best ever season last season bringing home many garlands and titles.
We couldn't be more proud of what Sinner has achieved and were excited to see what's in store for him next.

BWK Na Dun Sinners Black Tie affair

Also known as poppet

Poppet is Gemtimes Lil Sinners only offspring and you only need to look at her to know who her daddy is.
She may be the smallest horse at Lil Oaks standing at around 28 inches but she makes up for that in attitude.
Pops hasnt got out into the show ring much but her biggest achievement is Champion foal at the South island foal show in 2015.

Poppet is deffinatly a one person horse who would follow Alex around all day just to get cuddles.
Her worst habit is chasing men our of her paddock 😂😂.

Pops is a special girl and will be with us forever, shes got the personality, looks and movement to win everyone over.

Like father like daughter.

!! Team introduction !!

Shevelle ... also known as Shev.
Well known for being mistaken to be Alex's mother or sister and also keeping her in line.
Chief organizer and prep queen.
The heart of the team.

Alex ... no nick name but will answer to anything.
Well known for being extremely unorganized but somehow getting her s**t together and making it into the ring looking like her morning was a walk in the park ...

We met each other coming up 8 years ago when Shev needed a hand in the show ring. A friend of ours connected us and we havent missed a season together since.
We have the same understanding and views on horses and training methods which makes us a great pair.
We have many great stories and memories together and we are excited for the next chapter in our horse world life.

Between Shev and Alex a 2 horse show team quickly turned into 8+.... realistically if we wanted to keep the little sanity we had left we needed to either downsize or find yourself a third amigo.

Brittany... Also answers to Britt, Chicky or the third amigo.
Well knowing for swimming when being thrown in the deep end, number 1 cheerleader and eating gluten at shows.
Brittany joined the squad November 2019 and has been so much help to us both. We honestly cant thank you enough for agreeing to become the 3rd blondie.

Thinking of a team/stud name is very difficult as we have found out but there are 2 horses who really bought Shev and Alex together. We took a snippet of each of there shows names and joint then together to make Lil Oaks miniature horses.

We look forward to the coming show season to see all our friends and celebrate each other successes.

Welcome to Lil Oaks Miniature Horses !!

We as a team believe in loving our horses first and foremost, they are part of our family and we will do anything for them.

We want our horses to enjoy there day to day lives by keeping there days enriched, whether this be a toy in their paddocks and friends to play with to a leisurely drive down the tracks.

As a show team we have a big passion for performance. This is enjoyed greatly because of the building blocks you have to form to gain trust from your horse.

We offer limited spaces for showing on behalf which includes the first building blocks of becoming performance horses. (This is currently full)

We are also lovers for making our horses look super pretty and hitting the show classes. Our love for this and performance has been what had bought this team together and what will drive out breeding in the coming years.

We love meeting new people and shows and enjoy watching people's successes.
