Emcee Equestrian Emcee Eq is distinguished by using soft methods and working around the horses brain to get results, which can then be taken into other fields.

I use the basis of longitudinal flexion to create suppleness and build from there up.

Hi guys🤎
I am attempting to tackle a bit of a controversial topic here so please, no offence is intended we all have our ways of doing things, but I want to discuss running reins and the issues with using them and why to avoid them all together.

Running reins are a low set device , therefore they provide a pull to the bottom jaw encouraging the horse to drop down and tuck its chin under in order to receive a pressure release; the first issue with this is the inability for the horse to travel “through” the next issue is formed by the pressured contact causing incorrect muscling for self carriage, the horse braces its pole and loses muscle in the lower brachiocephalicus and gains it in the upper brachiocephalicus just behind the ears. The horse then moves behind the bit and avoids the contact entirely, therefore is extra light because it has completely backed away from the contact. When the rider then asks for a higher contact; due to the horse being trained with a constant physical support system either side they lose that “contact” and struggle to remain straight and balanced without the rider dropping and widening the hands, holding a physical barrier for them. In some cases it means that you are quite literally pushing them into the bridle and needing an arm full of muscle to hold them there so that they have that support they require. In other cases they simply lose the “contact” entirely, all in all creating a heavy horse that is unable to carry itself.

Remedying this is extremely difficult and requires taking the horse right back to basics and teaching a light soft contact and self carriage without over-bending and sucking back, from scratch.

Hey guys💛
I’ve been getting a few questions as to why I ride with my hands so high so here is my attempt to sum it up without writing a novel...

In asking for a contact/come onto the bit the I lift my inside hand higher and bring my shoulder back, this causes the horse to bring its inside shoulder in to place and soften its pole...now the point of lightly lifting my hand up encourages the horse to lift its entire body up and carry itself uphill rather than lowering the hands and putting slight pressure on the jaw , which causes dropping down onto the bit and onto the forehand, the movement of lifting upwards is largely accentuated whilst the horse gets an understanding for this and from here the hands can be lowered, as a finished product all movements are extremely subtle and due to the shoulders being malleable (and straight) bend and asking for a contact can be achieved by just slightly lifting your hand making the aids in the upper body almost completely unseen.

Kandi (aka chopper), my 4yo break in + project being brought back in today for a quick but effective 20 min session after 6 weeks growing time. She went through the full range of emotions in the first video which is combatted by disengaging her and then moves into longitudinal flexion to soften her pole, create suppleness, and encourage her to get her back relaxed and swinging which in turn creates elevation, which then leads us to the end video! ❤️

Hi guys, I am currently in the process of growing my little business; I offer a range of services with a passion for schooling and watching your horses develop and grow! I am 5’1 weighing 47kg so am definitely able to take on smaller ponies aswell and absolutely love a challenge.

I school using light methods and longitudinal flexion as a base to create a supple soft frame which teaches the horse to carry itself and round its back, from here it is onwards and upwards!

Please flick me a message if you have any queries 😊
