Hi

Progress today. In Synch has been very scared of the measuring stick- it is very hard to train her to stand still by the stick when it freaks her out. Today she stood under the arm and enjoyed a lick pot. will do this for the next few weeks and then will start to worry about standing correctly

Teenages and adult dog classes -
has your cute puppy turned into a teenager that is testing your boundaries- this class will help your reset the behaviours and help you both to have fun

Do you want to do something more with your dog- I do trick, foundation agility and rally training as well

All classes are small and based around positive games training to help you and your dog to become a team.

Had a great class with Tracy Golin Sklenar yesterday- amazing the technology that allows participation of people on different sides of the world. Fusion was on fire not only doing distance but also turning tight. She is coming on so fast I just need her to stay relaxed in the ring now.

well my human did something she thought I would find easy- not so those tin cans were scarey so I didnt get as far as knocking them over- small steps

Also she thinks I dont know there are pills in the treats she gives me when we play extra games in morning and night

Hi

My human has been a bit more motivated this week. We have been working on measuring - I still hate the stick just saying.. Working on waits - I can now wait inside for a short period and while my human walks away and ignore a toy she drops but it is still too hard outside- do you blame me.... She introduced this noisy machine last night- I wasnt very sure and as you can see fussy on the treats - left the hard ones... Next week next round of puppy training so looking forward to this.

In Synch training at a new place - lots smells, noises, other dogs.
I ended up doing mainly focus work with two plates, wait work something she finds hard at the best of times and a little agility.

one of my clients discussed her dog wearing a head collar of some sort. So I decided to use Bailey to demonstrate how to train. He wasnt a good subject as as soon as he realised there were treats he was keen.

Hi

I have been a bit too busy to post lately.

I have been getting to play with lots of friends, had a photo shoot. The other night I wasnt impressed my human cut my nails and she cut one too short I wasnt impressed. I still hate the measuring stick - we have a mexican standoff...
We went visiting to the humans parents at the weekend and I got lots of pats and cuddles - I wasnt surprised who can resist me. Actually one lady is Tes friend - cant understand why somebody would like him before me but gather she has known him a long time.

Me and my human have been doing training- lots inside stuff as it has been cold. Still struggle with the stationary but love the other tricks. My human has been working alot of something she calls the collar grab and putting my head thru the lead- I am not keen on being caught... also lots of self control games- these are harder - I cannt resist. This week she did something where i was supposed to work out which hand the treat was in- still working on that

Also did a little agility stuff- I am not good at listening (my human is not good at telling me either) but I love to run and tend to miss tunnels and jumps but getting better. have got good at ignoring the amazing toy on the ground until told to get it- so now I feel the need to tell my human off less and I dont try and steal food or toy out of her hand or pocket.

Hi

Well I like it much better when my human uses the long toy. I like to run fast but am not always very accurate. me and my human make lots of mistakes - I am faster than she expects and then she is in the wrong place or slow to tell me what to do. Perhaps I need a new model. But we are managing to do more obstacles. I love this game. last few days training on agility. this stuff more fun than calmness games and that stupid pole thing

Training- what to do when things go wrong

Yesterdays session with In Synch didnt go as planned.

I had a class lesson I wanted to complete but...

When I got her out she was not focused and just wanted to do random equipment. I had the option to try and do what I planned- I have a list of things I want to teach or I could change direction and work on what she was telling me she needed now.

So I changed tack and just worked on getting her to check in and stay focused on me. I worked with some dishes and treats to start with as I thought toys would have been too exciting. Turns out I was wrong.

I had done some sessions with toys and got alot of frustration and leaping at the toy. I decided to see what happened with a long toy- one that she loves so much. I did have issues with her releasing the toy and her teeth were chattering but we worked thru this by not rushing- even found me doing a breath out helped- must remember this.

But using the toy that normally she just wants to steal - she could leave and do some equipment even though her head was spinning. She was struggling to focus on what I wanted and I in turn was struggling to get my timing right but I can see this might be what we need to do for a while. Maybe the initial focus work with food helped maybe it was the value of the toy only a few more sessions will help

I learnt alot from this session and we did start to achieve a little by the end of the session with alot less frustration than if I had continued to try and keep to my plan.

Cold day at doggie day care yesterday. Shadow didnt seem to care enjoying exploring the large run. Although she did have a snooze beside fire for a short while. The others went outside for short periods and then snoozed by fire.
