She is injured and is heading to the vets but other than that she is all good!

UPDATE 24/4 11AM - NO SIGHTINGS OF CLEO YET! If you see her please let us know and we will be there super fast - do not approach and leave her alone.

Cleo has escaped her new home with secure fencing through a tiny little gap.

She is missing from George street Hikurangi
Last seen on State Highway running towards Jordan Valley after being hit by a car doing 100km/hr

She is potentially injured & will NOT come out for anyone. If you see her please phone Sarah on 0210 287 6801 or Summer on 02102206951 and please DO NOT approach her until we can get to her or she will RUN 😭😭😭

Hey Guys!

This weather is absolutely horrid 😵
Please keep you pooch home from our Kamo center if possible - the dogs do not enjoy this weather and would rather be tucked up at home sleeping.

Kobes Birthday 🎂

Omg we can't believe this handsome dude is 1 already! Kobe has proven himself to be such an amazing guy - especially while being entire and going through his 'teenage phase' with all that testosterone 🥰
Kobes parents should be extremely proud of the job they have done with our happy go lucky staffy, that always likes to trip us up 🤣🤣

If you're patient, understanding, and ready to give this pup all the love and care she deserves, please consider adopting Cleo. She'll be forever grateful to have a special place to call her own! Let's find this gorgeous girl her perfect forever home! 🐾✨

🫶Cleo will need an experienced owner that will give her time to come out of her shell and trust you - this could be a long process, and you will receive ongoing support from her foster mums.

🫶You will need to have another confident dog in the household as she will need to watch and follow her new doggo-sibling for her confidence.

🫶 She is excellent with Dogs, Cats, Chicken, Noises and Stock.

🫶 Her recall while off lead is amazing 👏

🫶 Nervous around Males, Children and strangers - she must have a bond before you can pat her.

🫶 As per all Bay of Islands Animal Rescue - Never Ending Story doggies she is microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and a rehoming fee required

She will need to be matched with the right person who is kind, have patience and understanding of what this girl needs moving forward in her life 💕
Applicants will need to meet the right criteria, and be able to meet her a few times before taking her home.

Doggy Den Downtown is looking for a Superstar with Dog experience for between 9 hours a week Monday, Tuesday & Thursday with the opportunity for more hours, and staff coverage!

You must have:

🐕 Passion for Dogs
🐕 General Dog behavioral knowledge
🐕 Great sense of humor
🐕 Reliable Transport
🐕 Great at CLEANING

This role is NOT suitable for a school age child, or someone who has NOT worked within the animal industry before.

New Foster Alert 👀👀👀

I've had my eye on Cleo from a earlier adoption day! And we now have her at the Den.

Cleo is super shy, and takes a while to trust humans. She trust myself and Shania enough to let us give her some special one on one time.
We hope we can get her a special home shortly with someone who will love her, and her quirks.

For those of you who know myself, Brad and Shania we love taking on dogs that are 'harder' to rehome and need alot more work than your average foster. We have successfully rehabilitated some extremely fearful 'puppy mill dogs' and dogs that do not trust humans.

Did you know The Doggy Den is owned and operated by a Veterinarian? Owned by 2 Sarah's, Sarah A is a qualified practicing veterinarian, and Sarah N who has worked in the veterinarian industry for 4 years. This is where there passion and vision started.

Both Sarah's have young families and an extreme appreciation for Canine kind. It naturally followed that they wanted to do something that involved both of these most important features in their lives and hence - the doggy den!
