So cutting all the fruit and veg for freeze-drying is very tedious and it needs to be rather small/thin to make sure there are not too big pieces so it all freeze-dries uniformly. I've been searching for various gadgets that would help me with this and speed up the whole process. Imagine my surprise when I found that there is a slicer blade on the food processor! I watched a video and then went and looked at mine, thinking for sure I don't have that, and those blades were still in their original packaging! How embarrassing haha. So now I can do these amazing thin slices of kiwifruit, strawberries, and even blueberries - blueberries cannot be freeze-dried whole as their skin prevents drying, and I was *dreading* cutting each individual one or putting holes in them one by one. But the food processor just blitzed it all in a second. Just look at these beautiful slices! This also means I don't have to sell "big beaks" and "small beaks" options - I can sell whole slices and you can easily snap them for smaller birdies. Win win win. 🥳This means I can restock grapes and mango and when the plum trees come into fruit in a few weeks I'll be ready (already bought a multi-pitter!)
