I’m sad angry & in disbelief , it’s as if the government don’t think rabbits matter 😢 they do matter! they have emotions & feel pain & discomfort just like any other animal. We DO need a Rabbit code of welfare!

We need to stand up for our voiceless and vulnerable bun friends. They need us to be loud and make one hell of a fuss!

This morning I was up early before the sun rise to ice birthday cakes & there was a power cut ! Had to fumble in the dark to find the torch & matches then finished icing by candlelight 🕯️🐰🎂 Then the power came back on just as I’d finished, which was a relief as I could put them in the dehydrator then to dehydrate them ready to send to some special bunnies for their birthdays 🥳

‼️‼️WE NEED YOUR HELP‼️

The SPCA has told a news reporter that they haven’t received any complaints about Shiloh rabbits since 2022!

Does anyone have a paper trail of a complaint made the the SPCA since 2022?

We personally were continuously following up with them in 2023 to see what was happening so we didn’t feel we needed to make new complaints since there was an open case!!

You see how manipulative the SPCA are?

After 20 years of complaints, maybe just MAYBE people are sick of complaining to you SPCA!! Because you do nothing!!!

Doing something is NOT turning up to the property and offering “educational advice”. Nothing changes!!!

If you actually cared, would you not have gone back to check on them??

I feel like the only way we are going to be heard is if I tie myself outside of the SPCA shelter and go in food strike!!!

Can EVERYONE please make a complaint about Shilohs rabbitry to the SPCA now!! All you have to do is look on trade me and see the physical conditions of the rabbits.

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT US and let us know your complaint number by messaging us so we can keep on file. As clearly the SPCA cannot be trusted with the information they give!

This big little face marks a new milestone - all of Richards babies are now desexed 🎉

It’s taken a while, and possibly taken some years off my life, but we are thankful to make it to this point! A big thanks to the wonderful team at At the Vets who are always there when we need them and are so amazing with our rabbity friends 🐰❤️🐰 we couldn’t do what we do without them!

Richards babies will all be available for adoption once their post op healing journey has ended 🌹

Tomorrow Sat 20th Jan 2024 we are doing conventional bales of the meadow hay just $10 each.
MASSIVE MASSIVE Thank You to everyone that has kindly donated to get Luna the Ultrasound she needs.
Everyone has been so giving and kind, it has been totally amazing by the kindness :) You guys ROCK :)

Photo below is one of Megan's(our super employee) rabbits called Luna, sadly she has become quite unwell, not eating and not her happy self, Megan has spent nearly 1k on her but the vets would like to do a ultrasound which Megan just can't afford at around $500 but this should give vets more of a idea the full problem with Luna.
From every conventional bale of meadow hay we will donate a few dollars to hopefully get the ultrasound Luna needs.
If anyone was also kind enough to want to just donate, just message or leave a message on this post, even $5 would be amazing as we all know tough times.
Luna is only 2 so has many more bunny years left to enjoy.

Another super hot day in Canterbury today & it’s going to be hot tomorrow too🥵so please check on your buns x
A pet carrier or in the bathroom or a shower cubicle will do if they’re too hot outside, anything safe you can think of to keep them inside will do.

MetService has issued a Heat Alert for Canterbury today 🥵 with an estimated high of 31 degrees 🔥

Rabbits struggle in the heat, so take measures to ensure they are able to remain cool as cucumbers 🥶 bringing them indoors with the air conditioning is obviously the best and easiest - spending one day locked in a cage with the AC won’t kill them but heat stroke will!

Other ideas include:
Fans for air flow - Ryobi have a great battery one
Frozen icepacks
Plenty of shade
Pavers in the shade
Loads of water

Check on buns as frequently as you can, if heat stroke starts to kick in acting quickly can make all the difference. Most vet clinics are open today and After Hours Vet is available as well 🏥

Humans - don’t forget to take care of yourselves as well! Drink lots of water and slip, slop, slap and wrap! 💦

After a slow transition of mixing with other pellets & gradually reducing to just Fibresafe my 5 buns eat just Fibresafe Timothy complete pellets now & I feel so happy to be feeding an extremely healthy pellet to my bunnies while also supporting a local NZ family run company 🥰🐰

Has the time come to switch your rabbit's food brand? Maybe your rabbit's current food brand isn't meeting his nutritional needs, or is making him sick. Whatever the reason, you will need to switch food brands carefully so as not to upset...
