SONGWRITER won the Christmas At The Races Maiden 1600 at New Plymouth yesterday. Masa Hashizume took this son of Wrote to the front from the start, controlling the race, and finished off convincingly with a final burst down the home straight.

It's been an extremely hard 48 hours as we come to terms with the sudden passing of our best friend and colleague, Johnathan Parkes.

As a working duo we had 676 starts together, for 123 wins, and 142 placings. This was highlighted with dual Group 1 wins with Julinsky Prince.

There are just so many endless memories that we will cherish forever.

That aside, what we will miss the most is Johnathan's humblesness, quick whit, and infectious smile.

A very emotional victory today on the Synthetic, with THOUGHTSO winning the Makowhai Farms and Whisker Forestry 1400m.

Thoughtso's owner Rick Orr devastatingly passed away a few weeks ago. Rick was an incredible human being and we enjoyed every moment with him. Called a spade a spade, always had us in fits of laughter and lived life to the max and his passion was infectious. That one's for you Rick, it has been a privilege and an honour.
