Weight loss clinic success!

Sky came to us for a weight-loss consult with one of our nurses, as her owners noticed she had gained excess weight.

During the first visit we got a picture of Sky's current diet, treats and activity levels as well as her body condition score. We tailored a plan for Sky so her owners knew exactly how much to feed her to achieve a safe level of weight-loss.

On the first visit Sky weighed 23kg. By sticking to the plan we set out, when she came back for her next visit a few weeks later she had lost 500g. Sky's owners had noted that she was much brighter and energetic than before.

A few visits later with dedicated owners doing all the right things with diet, exercise, treat reduction and regular revisits, Sky has lost a total of 2.5kg and is almost at her ideal weight.
Keeping our furry friends at a nice healthy weight helps to improve life-span, increase general well-being and energy levels.

Top Tip: Hard Snacks

Our pets love treats they can chew on, but did you know that if the snack is too hard it may damage your pet's teeth?

Our vets say that if a food is too hard to indent with your fingernail you shouldn't feed it to your pet.

Serious dental issues such as fractured teeth, can be caused by feeding bones, or ice-cubes, or providing chew toys that are too hard.
