Personality: Rhaenyra is a very smoochy cat. Every time you come in the room she runs to you to get attention and pats. She loves nothing more than you sitting with her and patting and playing with her. She is not shy with any humans, even those she has just met!

Ideal Home: A noisy busy home is great, she's great with kids. She doesn't seem to like other cats or dogs, but this may be because she had kittens with her, she may warm to them.

Personality: Very confident, curious and affectionate wee girl. Loves playing and exploring and when she is tired she becomes a love bug who cant get enough cuddles. Plays well with her foster brother but is a bit dominating.

Ideal Home: Cat tower a must and a cosy lap and or shoulder. Someone to play with and lots of cuddles.

Personality:
I am the final one from a litter of 4 to find my forever home. I am quiet and shy to begin with, and will be happy to snuggle with my human and be carried around while you do your chores. I enjoy playing with my foster siblings that are younger than me and have been around 2 cat-savvy dogs. I love running through tunnels and feather toys the most. I am a very sweet natured girl and would love another feline friend to play with.

Ideal Home:
Kaia would do best in a quieter household, so no young children please. She is quite shy to start off with and may want to hide. Introduce her to the house slowly, one room at a time. She loves to just be held for a cuddle and will happily play on her own too. She will need some time to settle while she gets used to her new humans, so please be patient with her.

INTREPID [ID #19036]

Personality: Intrepid is a quirky cat with a strong sense of what she wants. Having spent most of her life on a farm with limited human interaction, she tends to be cautious around strangers. She has a deep love for treats and food, becoming incredibly affectionate when she's fed. Expect her to rub against your legs, begging for attention. While she's generally sweet, Intrepid can become easily overstimulated—look out for tail flicks or ear twitches as a warning. If that happens, just give her a little space, and she'll quickly return to her cheerful self. Though she's not fond of being picked up, when it's time for a vet visit, she’ll snuggle up close to you for comfort.

Ideal Home: Intrepid requires a calm, patient home where she can gradually adjust at her own pace. Initially, it’s best to keep her in a smaller room, making sure all windows and doors are securely closed. She is not a good fit for a household with children. Intrepid can get along with other cats, provided they are not overly dominant.

Personality: Dorothea has had quite the journey over the past four months, but she’s now ready to find her forever home! Through no fault of her own, she came to Lonely Miaow with a broken leg, but after two surgeries and lots of love and care, she’s back on her paws and ready for the next chapter of her life. Dorothea is an absolute trooper with the sweetest personality—she loves curling up in your lap and will happily stay close by for cuddles. She has a special fondness for string toys and treats! Due to her past injury, Dorothea would thrive in an indoor home or one with a safe catio. While she can enjoy the outdoors during the day, she’ll need supervision. This brave, loving girl has been through so much and is now ready to bring joy to a family who will adore her. She truly deserves all the happiness in the world!

Ideal Home: Dorothea would fit in wonderfully in most homes. While she hasn't met any dogs yet, she would do well in a household with or without other cats, especially with a gentle introduction. She is great with older children who understand how to handle her carefully during playtime or when picking her up.

Come on Auckland Council - we need this desperately too!

📢 Cat bylaws coming into effect soon 📢

➡️ Nelson City Council - starting 19 December, all new cats over 4 months must be microchipped, desexed, and registered with the NZ Companion Animal Register. Existing cats have until 1 June 2026 to comply.

➡️Tasman District Council - starting 1 January, all new cats over 6 months must be microchipped, desexed, and registered with the NZ Companion Animal Register.

We support these bylaws as they are a big step towards improving the welfare of cats living across New Zealand.

Is your cat microchipped and registered on the NZCAR? By encouraging microchipping and registration, these regulations make it easier for you to be reunited with your cat if they get lost!

✅Good for protecting biodiversity
✅Good for shelters that can then focus on other animals in need.

(*Note about desexing –a cat is exempt from the desexing requirement if it is kept for breeding purposes and registered with a nationally recognised cat breeders' body, or issued with a certificate from a registered veterinarian stating that desexing would adversely affect its health or welfare.)
