Gorgeous Hadley has a sweet, gentle personality. He is a little shy at first with new people as he spent his life living on the streets. Hadley often tucks his ears down at first when people approach but he has never been aggressive. Once he gets to know you, Hadley is very affectionate and chirps at you for pats.
Hadley has been fostered with several cats who he is submissive to. He is also used to older children who let him sleep on their beds.
Ideal Home:
Hadley is used to children over 8 and cats. He has spent a small amount of time near dogs.
Hadley will need to be kept in a smaller room at first until he gets used to his surroundings before being let into the rest of the house. Please keep all doors and windows shut!

Rimu came into care terrified of people, he has come a long way but is still shy with new people. Once he bonds with you Rimu loves to snuggle up next to you in bed. He isn't very fond of being picked up but is getting better at tolerating this with time. Rimu is obsessed with feather teaser toys; this is the way to bond with him. He also enjoys playing with pom poms and eating venison treats. He loves exploring and climbing cat trees. Rimu has a sensitive tummy. His new home needs to be prepared to continue his diet of royal canin third stage biscuits with a tiny amount of Ziwi Peak venison superboost.
Ideal Home:
Rimu needs an understanding and patient home who will give him time to settle in. He will need to be kept in a smaller room at first. Rimu adores other cats and will be fine with teenagers.

Personality: My name is Mei (May) and I am a tiny, little bolt of energy. I was named Mei because I was found in May 2024. I was very small, very sick and really needed help. I have learnt so much since being in foster care, including how to bop your nose if you try to kiss me, how to get under your blanket with you in bed so I can sleep next to you, and how to scream till you fill my bowl with biscuits. Recently, I have learnt I can jump quite high and get up onto things I shouldn't.. like the dining table and bookshelves. I can't resist, I love to climb!
Ideal Home: I am very confident to meet new people, and recently have enjoyed playing with human children - they give me all the attention I need! Right now, I have a foster Aunty, who is a bit older than me, and doesn't love humans, but I have loved playing with her - she's like a kitten when she is with me! Lonely Miaow are thrilled to launch our Winter Desex Campaign! We will be desexing and microchipping 182 cats this winter (owned or strays!)
We are partnering with Lynfield Vets, Pakuranga Vets, Veterinary Associates Takanini, and CareVets Papakura to provide free desexing and microchip insertion, which we will register on your behalf. Recipients of desex appointments will need to transport the cats (owned and strays) to and from the veterinary clinic agreed upon.
This offer can be used for your own furry friends or stray cats in the community, as long as they are over 1kg in weight at the time of surgery. Please complete one of the below forms to apply for a desex appointment.
This campaign is funded by NZCAT and two generous souls, Bill Shenton and Gloria Reece who bequeathed funds to us, to enable us to continue the work we do.

Meet Waffle! This sweet little boy was surrendered by his owners after he was attacked by their dog and they unfortunately couldn't afford the treatment he needed. A bite on the head resulted in swelling on the right side of his head and he now has a head tilt. Poor Waffle was unable to eat on his own or mobilise well. Within just a few hours in our care, he was eating on his own, walking in short spurts (although unsteady). He is now able to use his litter box. Waffle is an extremely affectionate and happy kitten. He still has a long road to recovery ahead and is on pain relief, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics while he recovers. Introducing Flipper! 🐾🐱 Flipper came into our care along with her siblings, and we quickly realised that she had issues with her back legs. Despite having no reflexes and being unable to empty her bladder, our amazing vet team and Cat Care Manager stepped in to provide the best possible care for her. 💕 With daily physio and laser treatments, Flipper has made incredible progress with her mobility! She can now climb cat trees and run, although sometimes her running can be a bit clumsy. She's even able to urinate small amounts on her own, but her bladder still requires expressing twice a day to ensure it empties properly. We're now looking for a special forever home for Flipper, where she can continue to receive the care she needs. She'll need to be kept indoors with access to litter boxes throughout the house, and we've found that clumping litter and larger litter boxes work best for her. Flipper's foster mom is happy to teach anyone willing to learn how to express her bladder, which only takes 30 seconds and is easy to do. With time, she may not need this assistance anymore. Flipper has been living with resident cats and a dog, and she's also used to being handled by children. She may grumble a bit at first with new cats, but she quickly becomes great friends with them. 🐾 If you're interested in providing a loving home for this special girl, please reach out to us. We were contacted a couple of weeks ago about a kitten with deformed front legs that was dropped off at an after hours clinic. We offered to take her in and see if it was possible to help her. Rexy (affectionately named as as she looks like a little t-rex) was transported to Pakuranga Vet Clinic who diagnosed her with bilateral radial agenesis - meaning both radius bones are completely missing from her front limbs, causing her legs to curl in. On top of this, her tail is also fused. Specialists were immediately contacted for advice on this unique little girl. One option we have is to perform an arthrodesis, which is where the ulna bone is cut and plated to try straighten her legs. As this is an incredibly rare condition, there is only ONE documented case of this procedure ever being performed before so there is no guarantee this will work. In the long term if Rexy is left as she is, she will end up in pain, particularly her right leg as this is her weaker side and she currently walks on her wrist. If the arthrodesis fails, we do have another option which is to amputate her front leg/s. Rexy is resilient and often bounces around anyway so we believe she should be able to adapt easily to this. Rexy has already adapted so well to her difference, and loves bouncing around like a bunny!
