Looking for a super sweet and affectionate family man? Our boy Alfie has come a long way since coming into care a year ago and he's got so much love stored up ready for his forever home. He's great with cats, dogs and would suit older gentle children too. He eats a raw diet to help with his tummy issues so no cat bikkies for this gentleman 🐈
If you'd like to meet him, come and visit him at our adoption day this Sunday at PETtstock Takapuna
Please enjoy this video of Alfie demonstrating his sweet nature ❤️🐾

Here’s a little look at life with two of our timid foster kitties. Dusk (ID 21649) and Midnight (ID 21648) have been in foster care since February and have come such a long way from the scared, somewhat feral kittens they were. They still have skittish moments, but they have so much love to give. Both girls are available to adopt now, visit our website for more details www.lonelymiaow.co.nz/adopt.#timidcats #timidkittens #fosterkittens #rescuekittens #rescuecats #lonelymiaow

Help us find this very special boy a home 💛
Today is a year since Alfie was found near death by one of our volunteers. Full of flu and emaciated we quickly worked to save him. He's now looking to live his second chance at life to the fullest!
Alfie was left with a sensitive tummy which requires him to be raw fed. This costs under $2 a day and is worth it for the love you'll get in return.
Alfie is a little shy at first but it doesn't take him long to show his affectionate side. He is great with other cats and used to older children so would suit a home with either.
Please get in touch with us if you're interested in meeting/adopting this sweet lil guy 🐈❤️Or fill in our adoption application on https://www.lonelymiaow.co.nz/application-to-adopt.

Meet Waffle! This sweet little boy was surrendered by his owners after he was attacked by their dog and they unfortunately couldn't afford the treatment he needed. A bite on the head resulted in swelling on the right side of his head and he now has a head tilt. Poor Waffle was unable to eat on his own or mobilise well. Within just a few hours in our care, he was eating on his own, walking in short spurts (although unsteady). He is now able to use his litter box. Waffle is an extremely affectionate and happy kitten. He still has a long road to recovery ahead and is on pain relief, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics while he recovers. If you would like to donate to Lonely Miaow to help with Waffle's vet bills and other pet's in our care, please visit https://www.lonelymiaow.co.nz/donate

**update: Sneak has been adopted!! Thank you everyone who shared her post **
The SMOOCHIEST girl, Sneak hasn't had any one interested in adopting her.
She loves the companionship of humans after settling in. She'd love to be your little buddy, following you from room to room. She can be a little bit shy when she meets new people (aren't we all), but once she gets to know you she's so loving and playful. She loves her cat-bed, and snuggles up quietly each night, supervising everyone else. She's addicted to pats, and rolls over for chin scratches. Just look at her winning over her foster parents ❤️
I'd you'd like to meet Sneak, fill in an application form today here: www.lonelymiaow.co.nz/application-to-adopt or flick us a DM for any questions

Introducing Flipper! 🐾🐱 Flipper came into our care along with her siblings, and we quickly realised that she had issues with her back legs. Despite having no reflexes and being unable to empty her bladder, our amazing vet team and Cat Care Manager stepped in to provide the best possible care for her. 💕
With daily physio and laser treatments, Flipper has made incredible progress with her mobility! She can now climb cat trees and run, although sometimes her running can be a bit clumsy. She's even able to urinate small amounts on her own, but her bladder still requires expressing twice a day to ensure it empties properly.
We're now looking for a special forever home for Flipper, where she can continue to receive the care she needs. She'll need to be kept indoors with access to litter boxes throughout the house, and we've found that clumping litter and larger litter boxes work best for her. Flipper's foster mom is happy to teach anyone willing to learn how to express her bladder, which only takes 30 seconds and is easy to do. With time, she may not need this assistance anymore.
Flipper has been living with resident cats and a dog, and she's also used to being handled by children. She may grumble a bit at first with new cats, but she quickly becomes great friends with them. 🐾
If you're interested in providing a loving home for this special girl, please reach out to us. Let's find Flipper her perfect forever home where she'll receive all the love and care she deserves! ❤️🏠🐾 #AdoptFlipper #SpecialNeedsKitten #ForeverHomeNeeded
We were contacted a couple of weeks ago about a kitten with deformed front legs that was dropped off at an after hours clinic. We offered to take her in and see if it was possible to help her.
Rexy (affectionately named as as she looks like a little t-rex) was transported to Pakuranga Vet Clinic who diagnosed her with bilateral radial agenesis - meaning both radius bones are completely missing from her front limbs, causing her legs to curl in. On top of this, her tail is also fused.
Specialists were immediately contacted for advice on this unique little girl. One option we have is to perform an arthrodesis, which is where the ulna bone is cut and plated to try straighten her legs. As this is an incredibly rare condition, there is only ONE documented case of this procedure ever being performed before so there is no guarantee this will work. In the long term if Rexy is left as she is, she will end up in pain, particularly her right leg as this is her weaker side and she currently walks on her wrist.
If the arthrodesis fails, we do have another option which is to amputate her front leg/s. Rexy is resilient and often bounces around anyway so we believe she should be able to adapt easily to this.
Rexy has already adapted so well to her difference, and loves bouncing around like a bunny! You can find out more about the great lives cats with this difference can live by visiting https://youtu.be/UZBReZE7b74
She still has a few more months of growth before surgery is possible. We are all rooting for this little girl and invite you to follow her journey with us 💛
If you are able to donate towards Rexy's growing vet bills, please follow this link: www.lonelymiaow.co.nz/donate
