This is Keller the guineapig. Her and her sister Helen were born completely blind, deaf and with very malaligned teeth (a good example of why ya don’t marry your cousin - their mother had accidentally gotten pregnant by one of her baby sons and Helen and Keller were the result!)
We have to trim their front teeth every few weeks as they are crooked so don’t wear themselves down on food etc. If we didn’t, the teeth would just keep growing until they dug into their mouths or chins and this would eventually kill them.
Helen and Keller live a very content life in a large cage inside in our living room. We have to keep their water and pellet bowls in exactly the same place so they can find them easily, their cage is one level, and they have a circular hide that they snuggle up together in to sleep. When they are feeling energetic, they run round and round their hide popcorning, feeling the outside of the hide with one side of their face.
Helen and Keller make excellent petting zoo guineapigs because they don’t get spooked by sights or sounds, so are very content to just sit on kids laps and eat the grass that is hand fed to them ❤️ and they can’t see to run away, so they just stay put! 😂
They are also very friendly and affectionate as you can see by the video below 🥰

Wow! This one is for all my fellow dog-lovers out there ❤️🐶
And then there were 3! 🦆🦆🦆❤️❤️❤️
Warm lettuce bath for the orphan Mallard ducklings.
One of the biggest killers of pet ducklings is hypothermia because they don’t have a mummy to waterproof their feathers for them and to snuggle under after a swim. Mummy duck body temperature is 41.1-42.2°C which keeps the ducklings REALLY cosy.
So the bath must be lukewarm (not cold) and brief, then we have to dry them off with a towel and place them on a heat pack with a woolly blankie to snuggle under.
