Thank you for your support, Angela! 😻😻
With the merger of lostpet.co.nz to the NZCAR, we have strived to make the entire service intuitive and quick to use. We always love to hear your feedback! Thank you Cats Protection League Canterbury - NZ!
Make sure you check out the newly merged service at https://animalregister.co.nz/LostPet
#LostPtNZ
We have merged LostPet.co.nz and the New Zealand Companion Animal Register. We have improved the search function and retained our map.
Listing your animal in LostPet, not just on social media, is important because your listing will always appear in your area, under their species, and on our map!
#LostPetNZ
LostPet should be the first place you list your missing animal, but we know Facebook is popular too. We have made it easier to share your listing on Facebook, but remember; social media has its drawbacks, so we recommend you list, for free, on our newly merged LostPet/NZCAR supersite first.
#LostPetNZ
Don't forget to check both lostpet.co.nz AND animalregister.co.nz for lost and found listings until the 30th of November. While we merge our LostPet service over to the NZCAR, animal listings may appear in either place.

Microchipped pets are THREE TIMES more likely to make it home. Take a minute now to check that your details are up to date at www.animalregister.co.nz.
It is free to update your details. The NZCAR has microchip details for 1.2 million NZ pets. Are YOUR pets on there? Listing your pet's microchip is a quick and easy process, requiring only a one-time payment of $15.
From October 25th, LostPet.co.nz will be merged with the New Zealand Companion Animal Register, so it should be the FIRST place you go if you have lost or found a pet. #LostPetNZ
Making a listing on NZCAR/LostPet should be your first action after your pet goes missing. Creating a listing on LostPet is free. Anyone can share your listing from there.
Having a LostPet listing as your MAIN listing has several advantages:
1. The ability for guardians and other users to share listings straight to Facebook
2. When a guardian marks their pet as ‘lost’ from their NZCAR Registered pet, this takes the guardian to a prepopulated LostPet listing form (using their pet's NZCAR details)
3. Ability to print a flyer from their LostPet listing
4. When your pet comes home, simply removing your LostPet listing means you don't have to remember where else you have posted

We're combining two of NZ's most powerful lost pet tools! Stay tuned to #LostPetNZ to hear how we are changing how kiwis find their lost animals.
Hi all, experience tells us we are never far away from an emergency. Microchipping and listing your pet's details on the NZCAR means a quick reunion and peace of mind. If you are in a flood affected area there is free microchipping being offered by SPCAs, HUHA and local councils (even without council registration). Please, get your pets microchipped
Our thoughts are with the people and animals affected by #CycloneGabrielle. Whether you are in #HawkesBay or elsewhere, please follow the following advice for your companion animals.
We have sent microchips and will be arranging free NZCAR registrations for displaced animals at temporary shelters
