Dear arena users,

We are making slight adjustments to our livery costs.
Our prices will now be tailored based on various factors rather than the flat rates we were previously offering to all.

Our arena hire will remain at $15 per rider. However we will now be asking $25 for 2 riders ( instead of $20 )

Arena hire for private lessons will also be $15 unless you are one of our regulars.

If you are interested in hiring our arena, remember the additional options we can also offer by arrangement at Nolran!

I’m available to take photos and videos of you if needed and I can lend my GoPro Hero 12 for jumping footage!
We also have a vaulting set available for hire and please don't forget that we can also offer Equissage treatment.

Additionally ( for early birds ) we have barista made coffees on site!

We hope to see more of you soon since our arena is ideal at this time of the year!

While we haven’t been rushing to advertise for new grazers, we are open to welcome another horse or 2 if the right owner come along!

We currently have a nice sheltered paddock available.
It’s located near our main arena but a bit further away from most of the other horses.
For this reason it may be more suitable for 2 horses or for a horse who doesn’t mind being on his own.

We would have a preference for an adult rider wanting AM part livery services ( we feed and take rug off )
We could also offer a discounted grazing arrangement over the summer period if you are willing to help out occasionally when we are away.

This paddock includes your own storage shed, outdoor float storage and access to our 2 arenas.
$130pw for part livery
$250 for full livery including poo picking

Feel free to get in touch to come and meet us!

And the Ass..... of the day award goes to Peaky for breaking our arena's gate this afternoon, right after our fencer was here this morning!
Meanwhile, it took us way over 2 hours to float Gypsy back home from Arrowtown ( we probably only made it because we went home to grab the horse truck for her and also had to call a friend to help us loading Ruatoria! )
Maybe it's a sign we should reconsider which horse to sell? 🤣

Safe family horse!

Whiskey is a solid 15.3hh gelding, estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old.
He has been ridden by riders of various levels at our place and has done a lot of everything with us!

We are seeking expressions of interest and will only let him go if we find a suitable home for him.

Whiskey is a reliable happy hacker, great for solo rides, cowboy challenges, pony games, low level jumping and enjoys a good gallop.
He would be perfect for a whole family to enjoy or for a less confident rider looking for a safe horse to go on solo quiet hacks.

He can be left completely alone but also gets along well with other horses.

Now he is getting older he would be an ideal horse as a paddock mate who can still be ridden as often or as little as you want.

We purchased him from a luxury lodge horse trek business in March 2020. We were told he was turning 12 or 13 years old at the time but his first owner assumed he may be a couple of years older.

This horse is extremely clever and can be stubborn and lazy with flat works. He doesn't enjoy beeing in the arena at all reason why I think it would be fair to let him go to a trekking home or to a place where he will have more fun like going hunting next season!
Unfortunetely I need a horse I can take lessons with since we have enough horses only suitable for trekking.

He will need a confident rider for faster rides with other horses due to some bad habits I have given him ( we both enjoy going fast when we finally get a chance to! )

He is fantastic with the farriers and great patient with the vets.
He is a great to truck and float ( both angle and straight load ) and unfazed by dogs, hounds, other animals, noisy clippers, big machinery, noisy kids, trampoline and the list could be long!

Whiskey loves his food and is not fussy at all.
One thing to note : He has a ridiculously short tail, likely genetic, and not worth trying to grow out.

Offers around $3500
Based in Arrowtown

Losing our beloved Dekota a few years ago was incredibly tough.

I remember how terribly lucky I felt after the accident my horse Lucky and I had at the Glenorchy races.
Even though I couldn't ride him for over 6 months and still can't do much with him now I was terribly fortunate he didn't break a leg.
Lucky is very special to me, probably because he is my first horse and a dream I waited over 30 years to realize!

Then came Gypsy with her health issues! Her future is uncertain, and we know she probably won't be with us for too long.
We are able to care for all our horses even if they are only paddock mates but we are aware that we will have to put her to sleep eventually soon... when the time comes.

I've also been preparing for the loss of our good old grazer Thomas for a while since he is 28 years old now.

It's natural to expect the old one to go first... then Gypsy with her unsoundness.

However life doesn't always follow our expectations. Often farmers tragically loose their healthiest animals without warning.

Despite our best efforts to care for them, check on them and keep all our animals safe and secure, horses can be beyond our control since there is often something happening with them!

It's with great sadness that we lost one of our grazers last week. We found the pony dead in her paddock and making that phone call to her owners was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

While it's easy for those not involved to place blame since the pony died on our property, anyone who has cared for horses for many years knows that despite our best efforts unforeseen tragedies can sometimes happen with horses!

I really would like to thanks the few owners like Rebecca and our amazing Ann ( I better to not forget Bernie! ) who made the effort to pay tribute to Blossom after her burial.
While most horse owners only care about their own horse I spend a lot of time with our grazers. I adore some of those horses as much as if they were one of my own.

She was more than just one of our own horses, she was a kid's first pony, a family member and before anything else a child's best friend. ❤️❤️❤️
