- Stay close so they know you’re there for them
- Have some of their favourite toys/blankets avail to snuggle into
- Keep the blinds pulled to avoid bright flashes of light which might be startling for them.

- Check their chip and ID tags are up to date, just in case they get startled
- Walk your dogs early, before the fireworks start
- Check your windows are closed to help keep the noise down.

She's only gone and done it again! An incredible achievement in what continues to be a remarkable year for Dame Lisa Carrington with last night's announcement in Portugal awarding Lisa one of the Olympic movement’s highest honours: the Association of National Olympic Committees Outstanding Sporting Career Award. Awarded in recognition of her career to date, it's the first time it's ever been won by a New Zealander.
Now we know will be beside himself with pride, but just quietly the whole team at NEXGARD New Zealand are stoked to be part of the team too! Congrats Lisa. Loving your mahi.

In 2021, dog trainer Joe Nutkins created National Pet Tricks Day to honor the joy that pets can bring to us. The day was created to honor the joy of spending time with pets of all kinds, sizes, and talents. Every year, according to the Humane Society of the United States, 13 million cats and dogs enter shelters. People who have pets should take good care of them and spend time with them.

Tricks are behaviors and teaching them to your pets puts them in a learning state. Tricks are activities that can be done for fun, such as praying, or for physical activity, such as weaving poles or spinning, or as valuable practical skills. Trick training is becoming increasingly popular, and many Canine Good Citizen Testers include a few tricks in their
seminars.
