Yesterday, 3wk old Meeno and 11 day old Aslan aka the brothers from other mothers, discovered something else they have in common!

Both their mamas had pyometra (infection of the uterus). I’ve had no cats with this in 7yrs and now two in two weeks!!

Unsurprisingly, considering how much infection and pus Mama Pearl had, baby Meenoo has infection coming out of him 😬 On Monday, he started to deteriorate so was immediately started on antibiotics and was back to his usual self within 12hrs 🙏

Beautiful Enid is 1yr old today 🥳🎈🎂

And she’s 7wks into her FIP treatment and doing so well. She’s gained weight and at 2.51kg is her heaviest ever! Obviously that’s very small for a 1yr old - she’ll be a perpetual kitten 🥰

How did she get FIP? Around 90% of moggies carry a coronavirus, and in a small percentage of cats this mutates into FIP. Wet FIP is more obvious as the main symptom is a belly full of fluid. Enid has dry FIP, the symptoms vary which is why it took so long for her to be diagnosed.

Enid is the sweetest snuggliest wee cat, but she needs more attention than I have time to give. I’m hoping there’s someone who would be willing to foster-to-adopt her 🙏 She has another 5wks of her FIP meds, and after that she’ll have a check up and repeat blood tests to see how she’s going.

The cost of her FIP treatment would be covered, as would vet appointments. You would just need to take her to see her vet in Wainuiomata.

This old boy was found in a backyard in Waiwhetu (Lower Hutt) two days ago. He’s in very poor condition but has certainly perked up in the two days he’s been at CareVets Wainuiomata.

He is neutered but not chipped. He’s very sweet so has had a home at some point. If you think he is your cat, please send me a photo to prove ownership or call the clinic on 04 564 4104.

⭐️ FREE KITTENS! IDEAL XMAS PRESENTS! ⭐️

The above is a lie. Kittens are not ideal Xmas presents.

Pictured is a kitten named Sooty. He was a Xmas present in 2021, an unwanted Xmas present who was dumped outside to fend for himself. Sooty had a small army of fleas, he had no idea how to eat (most likely taken straight off mum and given away) and he wasn’t litter trained.

This tiny baby kitten was ripped away from his mum, and suddenly in a strange place with strange people… who weren’t prepared for a kitten and who didn’t want him - and dumped him outside after Xmas to fend for himself. Who does this to a vulnerable baby 😭🤬😭

Kittens like Sooty are actually the lucky ones… he’s now living his best life with his mum and cat brother. The unlucky ones end up dumped in the middle of nowhere / drowned / beaten / used as bait for dog fighting etc.

Please! Don’t give your kittens away to the first random internet strangers to respond to your free kittens post. Surrender the whole litter and I’ll not only look after them, get them desexed etc but I’ll spey their mum for free.

How adorable are this duo 🙀🥰

The wee baby - named Baby Jasper (by the young daughter of Kate, who trapped him, as he looks like their cat Jasper did as a baby) was trapped and the next night his mama was trapped. Mum is shy, Baby Jasper tries to be tough but his mum isn’t so he’s not doing a very good job 😅

Last night the last two babies were trapped - thank goodness, because the weather was awful!! They’ll all be reunited later this morning 😍

This gorgeous girl is 7mth old Abby, and she’s seeking a foster-to-adopt home. She’s had some gut issues that are now fully managed (aka her 💩 is normal 🥳) - she needs a daily dose of steroids for the next 3wks, and she’s on a gastro diet.

Over the past month she has flourished from quite a shy girl to a confident affectionate kitten. She’s been happy with young kids and she’s shown she’d be quite happy with a dog buddy. She’s quite easy to bribe into taking her daily meds, but she’d need someone confident with medicating a cat to ensure she doesn’t miss a dose.

Everything Abby needs will be provided, and you’ll get to decide if you she’s the purrfect feline addition for your home meaning you can adopt her (usual cost applies), or you’ll realise she’s not and that’s totally ok! The main thing is, while she gets to 100% healthy, she’s experiencing lots of love and affection 🥰

You’d need to live in Wellington, Lower Hutt or Porirua.

6yr old Kaylee is seeking a new home. Her mum writes…

“Miss Kaylee was reported as a stray after she was found hanging around a house in Elsdon. I went to collect her, she was so ready to leave! She came running across the road and nearly leapt into the cage! She was heavily pregnant, so it was lucky she came into care then. Otherwise, her babies would have been born outdoors.

She stayed with us overnight before shifting to Feral Nation, where she had her kittens within 24 hours. She had four babies, sadly only three survived. After her kittens were weaned, she cared for more kittens before being desexed and returning to us. She loves people, especially our kids, cuddles, and catnip kickers.

What she doesn't love is other cats, which is why we are seeking a new home for her. We have four other cats and also foster kittens, which is proving to be too stressful for Miss Kaylee. She would love a home where she is either solo or with one other cat. She will sit on your knee, purr her heart out, make you biscuits, and sleep snuggled up to you in bed. She is a homebody and prefers to be chasing toys and sunny snoozing spots”

😈 Luna is definitely on the naughty list. She terrorises the dogs and likes to give them 20 wacks. She likes to open draws and cupboards and biff out the contents. This includes bit isn't limited to the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. She refuses to toilet outside and instead prefers her litter boxes (yes she has several 😂) and for added measure enjoys throwing her litter everywhere 😂

😇 This is Lily she is always the goodest girl ever. She’s learnt to detect seizures and will alert me or my flatmate to them and will stay with my flatmate is calm and comfortable. Everyone needs a Lily. And she did it on her own!

Brothers Wanda & Lincoln have just left to their furever home with two kids and two greyhounds 😍

Mouse has also been adopted and she’s going to the same family who adopted her brother Hercules 🥰

All going to plan, there’ll be 8 kittens for adoption next Sunday. You’ll need to be ready and waiting for the appointment post at 7pm on Wednesday, to nab yourself one of the appointments 😻

Beautiful mama Indie is starting to explore the mama cats room 🩷

Mama Lily has also been out a bit… she spent a few hours snoozing on the windowsill yesterday. Her and Indie swapped crates last night which was confusing for me this morning when I checked on them all 😅

Mama Daisy was briefly out for an explore on Thursday but seems happiest in her crate for now.
