Popular sire syndrome is real.

There are many factors contributing to genetic integrity of our breed. But one of the most significant concerns is “Popular Sire Syndrome"

UPDATE: Sally is meeting her new family next week. We’ll let you know how it goes

Mustang Sally has spoken and told us she would really like to be someone's adored One-and-Only. She certainly doesn't want to be a show dog (she has made that abundantly clear, LOL).

Sally is 5 months old, from health tested parents, very sound with no health issues and is very sweet but a bit shy, so she'll need a little time to learn to love her new family. She is great with other dogs (she loves coming to playgroup) and would do well in a home where she has a buddy, but she'll probably be fine with human company provided she's not left alone for long periods and there is always a lap available.

More a "Netflix and chill" dog than one who thrives on adventures outside the home. Probably not a good fit for someone looking for a dog who likes long walks among strangers and going to cafes or very small children. Older kids who can understand that they need to let her come to them first before trying to smother her with love, would be fine. She loves her food and is fully litterbox and crate trained.

We had hoped to show Sally and she top scored on our rankings, but she's not the least bit interested in doing what we want and so we're doing what is best for her and finding her a permanent lap of her own.

Please text Tracey on +64 275 127 922 to book a time to call if you think Sally's forever home is with you.

Please note: we are located in New Zealand so if you're not local, please check on transport costs from Christchurch before contacting us. We can arrange transport (national or international) at the new owners expense.

The saddest news today that Mr Piffles has crossed the rainbow bridge. RIP Mr Piffles

It’s with the heaviest of hearts I have to announce that Mr Piffles, Las Vegas headliner, beloved canine conjuror and faithful companion, has passed away just shy of his 17th birthday.

For over fifteen years I’ve had the privilege and the pleasure of being upstaged and outshone night after night by that little ball of fluffy indifference. He came into my life when I had nothing, and set me on the path to a career I could only dream of. In the beginning, I may have rescued him, but in the end, he rescued me.

I love you so much Mr Piffles.

Jenny and the “Brekkie Dogs” - that’s the dogs who insist on sitting on her lap every morning while she is trying to eat breakfast. It started with Ava but now Mexico and Sally have joined in. She cannot sit in a dining room chair at any time of the day, actually, without the posse lining up for a lap. 😁
