Update on Benny.. here he is back at the vets this afternoon. This morning his latest abscess burst.. his vet has changed his antibiotics and he is on pain relief and anti inflammatory meds.. he is much happier and I’ve told him that he should not lick his wound because he will have to wear his “necklace “ again…which he hates with a passion 🤣

Benny was nowhere to be seen when Kathryn and Jack’s friends visited today. After they left he turned up and enjoyed a treat that Jack and Kathryn brought him😍 a very happy Benny

Today the donkeys and I had a lovely visit from Kathryn, Jack and their 4 friends all the way from Wellington ❤️ I think Jayden is a donkey whisperer 🤣🤣 he is getting kisses from Trigger plus Bella, Mia and Jamie

Update on Benny.. visited his favourite vet Libby on Wednesday. Benny’s wound is finally on the mend. He doesn’t need to wear his necklace (collar) which he was removing throughout the week himself to my concern. He is back to his normal self. Accompanying me down the paddock supervising and dodging donkey curiosities 🫤😆

I had a lovely visit from Kate and Charlotte who came all the way from Auckland to meet the donkeys this afternoon 😍 the donkeys lapped the attention and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Kate and Charlotte. Thanks for bringing yummy carrots, apples and bananas …❤️

Update on Benny the cat. Wound is healing nicely. He spent today outside in the sunshine under my supervision. He hates his “necklace “ as restricts him but doesn’t stop him for climbing and jumping to my horror.. his appetite has improved and he was so happy to get outside today. I could see a smile on his face 😬 inside tonight in front of the fire 👍

Benny went to visit his favourite vet Libby this morning.. wound flushed, given antibiotics and pain relief. However Benny is NOT impressed wearing his new necklace 🫢😏 and he is not going to appreciate being kept inside the house for a week 😳

Update on Benny.. spoke to his vet this morning. I’m to bathe his wound with salty warm water twice a day. Booked an appointment on Wednesday morning if needed 👍 ❤️

Benny would like to give you all an update on his visit to the vet this morning. “I loved the trip in the car, loved the lovely lady vet, it seems that I’ve torn my ligaments or my tendons around my shoulder. So I’m on anti inflammations and pain relief. So got to try and spend more time in front of the fire, rest more and try and behave myself 😸”

Here is Indi.. I’m very proud of her. It’s the first time that she has ever worn a cover. She was relaxed when I put it on her, surprised me as she is normally so nervous. Her daughter didn’t recognise her wearing the cover 😆

This morning the donkeys fabulous farrier Elise came to trim their hooves. Here Elise is trimming Weatherby’s hooves. Weatherby has progressed so much from being an angry, frightened, and shy donkey trusting no one. He now comes up to people, enjoys a pat and a cuddle. He is so good and loves Elise and I know Elise loves him as well..
