I'm sure there's many other dog owners that would agree that 1 just isn't enough! We love having our dogs around, whether they are laid out sunbathing on our verandah, playing rough in the garden or lazing in front of the woodburner in the winter. I also love to sew and create, so decided to make some handmade colourful collars to give my dogs their own individual style. Our dogs looked funky in t
heir new collars and matching leads, turning heads down at the park and at the beach - often "oooh where did you get those from"? Now you can have funky pooches too! Our collars are all handmade by me, from fabric sourced from opshops, and garage sales to get a truly vintage look, with some irresistable designer fabrics thrown into the mix. (Who can resist Cath Kidston and Amy Butler? Not me!)
Not only are our collars eco friendly by recycling fabric, they are also contributing to charity. We donate 50c from every collar sold to the local animal shelters in Christchurch, and we also help our local "Hounds for Homes" Greyhound rehoming charity by donating a brand new handmade martingale collar to every new adopted greyhound. Most collars made are one - offs due to the small amount of fabric I find, or one of only a few made depending on how much fabric is available. This also means that not all collars have matching leads, as there isn't enough fabric! You can however be sure that your dog is wearing a limited edition collar. All our collars are handmade with care, and we use quality side release buckles, and hardware. Our black buckles are Duraflex and the coloured buckles are YKK.
