July Holidays
Mon, Tues, Wed 8:30 to 4:30
**We have wet day activities planned too! Paint, plait, videos/ movies all in the warm bunkroom if needed.
Mondays- focus on flatwork, dressage, pole maize and groundwork learn and practice a basic test.
Tuesday- focus on SJ and XC, course design, course walk, stride counting, approaching (run way) typical combinations- how to ride them.
Wednesday week 2 : One Day Event-
All riders will do a dressage test (learnt on monday) walk and compete a SJ course and ride a competition XC course. 30cm 50cm and 70cm
This will be setup like real competition.
Back Numbers, dress code, horses groomed and prize ribbons.
Bring you own pony to ODE $50 entry fee.
(Just send me name of rider and horse and height entering)
When booking write your riders preference on height and pony.
And no Maya isn't back- just a photo of a rider ready for competition.

We were one of the lucky ones to get to know Lizzie and her passion for ponies.
Ive known Lizzie since preschool days - Both Selwyn Toddlers and Burnham playgroups, then as she grew I became her coach for several years at RRC and her passion for her horses grew.
Our thoughts and love go out to Anne-Marie and her family at this sad time.

Pony Club. NZPCA
We are considering the benefits of offering Pony Club at RRC.
Benefits for Young Riders-
The Pony Club training structure provides a clear structure for training our young riders. Lessons are steered to cover material for riding tests and certificates gained.
This includes stable management, in hand or ground work, Horse riding and horse management. Coaches, riders and parents should be able to see progression in
riding and pony care ability. Many riding schools already run these as a Pony Club
and we see some benefit to riders who may move onto pony clubs in the future. Pony Club’s certificates are internationally recognised
certificates and become part of the largest association of young riders in the
world.
The cost would be added to your current lessons and all the learning and achievements available to parents via the Pony Club app.
Lessons are currently $450 per term
With the addition of NZ Pony Club certificates. The cost becomes $490 per term.
I'd like your feedback whether you and your riders would like yo become NZPCA affiliated.
We would then offer this to All students.

Why Ride More Than One Pony!!
-The more personality types, situations and disciplines you expose yourself to as a rider, the better you’ll be!
Coaches understand how to choose your horse for the best learning experience/outcome so riders can file information away for future use and hone skills.
A horse becomes the teacher, and for a rider to utilize more teachers creates more learning oportunities.
While a new horse can take time to master, the learning is exponential.
-What we learn- Refine your aids, patience, confidence, balance, adaptability, personalities, weaknesses in our own riding and of course new skills that riding only one pony can not teach.

Welcome Gus to the team. 16:2 TB bringing our total to 14 wonderful four-legged educators.
GUS provides RRC with a kind natured giant to continue our older teens and adult riding sessions.
Been on the property 4 weeks and has not put a foot wrong! Even I am enjoying being on a horse!! (Not a pony)

Great farm and horse memories, ride over our new XC area, enjoy grooming ponies, riding ba****ck, fun games and hacks through the forest.
Ponies, helmets provided or bring your own.

Time to start thinking about Term TWO.
All 5:30 will need to slip into yellow gaps!
Please let me know if your NOT returning or require a new time so we can make these available to others.
Also week 11 of term 1- Those who only paid for 10 weeks will need a top up ($45), and with daylight saving changes we can JUST fit the 5:30 session in before dark.
Enjoy the rain!!! Ponies are all covered up and warm.

Horse grazing available:
Burnham Road- 5 mins to Rolleston, 1 acre individual paddock suitable for 1 horse or two smaller ponies.
6 acres/paddocks available (Some with irrigation)
No storage- but we do have a riding paddock with a few jumps in it.
$35 per horse/pony

Happy New year everyone, welcome back!!
A few new ponies!
Burnie is back!
And Tizzy joins the team!
Fanta arrives later this month and will be a favourite I’m sure! And Vii has had her first outing and is also going great!
Bringing our pony count to 14 wonderful teachers!
Take time to get to know Diamond and Saphire- our two rescue ponies! They are learning to trust us and will be a fun addition for our younger grooms.
