Kjempecoons Maine Coons Kjempecoons is a small breeding cattery, the home of the "gentle giant" the Maine C**n. We are registered breeders with both NZCF and CatzInc.

We breed healthy, well socialised and show quality kittens, as well as working with foundation lines to keep them as outcrossed as possible. All our breeding cats are tested for HCM and HD.

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you from us all at KjempeC***s!
As you can see Aimee is very settled in to our new home in the Netherlands, as are Blaze and Buddy.

Hopefully next year we will be able to find a nice breeding girl and continue our KjempeC***s journey onze again!

We are still looking for a furrever home for our darling Zoe.....

KjempeC***s Arizona Dreams

Zoe is a lovely black smoke torie harlequin girl, 5 years old, very smoochy, talkative, nosy and playful! She loves nothing better than to groom your hair and lick you if you let her, but responds very well to no! An absolute sit next to you or on top of you all day long kind of girl, with a little bit of tortie stubbornness in her if she really has something in her mind.
Zoe can be bossy towards other cats, so is not great in combination with a timid or very dominant other feline companion, but is fantastic with cats that gently stand their ground, dogs and children.

Zoe is desexed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, registered, 4 gen pedigree etc all done.

Please PM me for more info if you can offer her a furrever home.

We also sadly have to re-home our dog, Xena.
Xena is approx 10 years old and is a blue heeler x border collie.
She is getting a bit older, her hearing and eye sight are getting a bit less due to her age, and is very wary the last couple of weeks with all the packing going on around her.
We feel she will absolutely not travel well over such a distance, especially since certain airlines refuse to carry dogs over 25kgs ( she is just over that) so she would have to travel for up to 3 days via Australia and Dubai rather than being allowed to fly with us for about 30hrs, which she just won't be able to cope with😥
Xena is great with children, cats, chickens, is curious about cows in paddocks but not trained at all regarding cattle work, so not sure how she will respond if given the opportunity.
Very loyal, very alert to strangers on property, very heeler like, herding chickens, family members etc to keep them all together.

We have done agility with her in the past, very responsive, smart and learns quick, very food driven, but easily bored and distracted after a while, so never competed with her.
She is generally ok with other big dogs, though prefers to be only dog in household. Absolutely avoids small dogs and can get a bit jealous if another dog comes up to me for a snif.
Trained her on voice commands as well as hand signs, and is clicker trained.

Health wise Xena has been speyed, microchipped, is registered with council ( Waikato), up to date with vaccination.
She is on a strict diet due to beef/ grain allergy, but with the right care this is very well manageable. Apart from her allergy we never had any health problems with her.

Being allowed indoors, especially at night, is a must for Xena, she is very much part of our family as many will know.
Bedding, bowls, all her stuff will come with her.
If you can give her a golden basket home please pm me.

Due to personal circumstances we have made the very difficult decission to relocate back to The Nethelands with our little family later this year.

We will take a few of our KjempeC***s cats with us to eventually start breeding over there again, hopefully with the same prefix, but it does mean we will have to find a new post code for a few of our young adults and queens.

My FB page and website will remain, so you will still be able to contact me for any help, and I will remain in contact with breeders here in NZ if more local support is needed for any of my kitten owners at any time!

The first 2 looking for a new person to snuggle with are:
KjempeC***s Arizona Dreams
AKA Zoe
Zoe is a lovely black smoke torie harlequin girl, 5 years old, very smoochy, talkative, nosy and playful! She loves nothing better than to groom your hair and lick you if you let her, but responds very well to a firm no!

KjempeC***s Nala
AKA Nala
Nala is a beautiful brown mackeral tabby girl, not the biggest in size, and a bit timid with strangers, but once she gets to know you she is all smoochy and wanting to play!
She will be a fantastic mouser, she is super fast and never misses with any moving object of interest! So expect regular presents from her! Nala is 4 years old.

Both girls will be desexed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, registered, 4 gen pedigree etc all done.

Please PM me for more info if you can offer these girls a furrever home.
Will upload some photo's tomorrow.

HOW MUCH FOR A KITTEN ?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisedly states: “I can buy a cheaper cat elsewhere”. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.
No cat is “just a pet”.
Behind every pure bred cat is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. A reputable breeder does not breed cats without papers, that does not protect the integrity of the breed. Registration (papers) are records of lineage that document bloodline and allow one to research any possible health issues present in the lineage. When you tell a Breeder you don’t care about papers what you’re really telling them is you couldn’t care less about the health of the cat you just want the cheapest thing you can find! When you select to buy a cat from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every cat; both cats owned and every cat they’ve sold for its lifetime. This breeder will skip holidays, miss sleeping, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their cats . The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in kittens that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any kitten/cat who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question.
A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about...In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do tests, echos, xrays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register cats and litters, research pedigrees, deworm, as well as microchip their kittens and get them evaluated by specialists.
Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their kittens. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they are not making money off the sale. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made so they need to be confident its the right fit. Many times saying more no’s then yes...A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Because a cat is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly persons therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!
