We have a purpose built clinic with separate cat & dog consulting & hospital rooms to decrease the stress when visiting the doctor and separate areas for cats & dogs waiting with their owners. We have open clinics (no appointment times) in the morning & evening. And best of all you can park right at the door & walk 3 steps & be in the clinic - easier & safer for you and your pet.

Vaccinated & Unvaccinated Covid Pet Owners

At the moment, as most of you will know, all our transactions with Owners and Pet Carers are contactless. We dialogue with you in the car by phone, take you pet in for examination & treatment and do contactless CC payments.

At some point “Government” will lower the controls, and turn over responsibility of running our business safely back to us.
NZVA(NZ Vet Association) tells us that the risk of covid infection when two vaccinated people get together is 200 times less than if two unvaccinated people get together. NZVA are recommending only vaccinated people come into the clinic.
We are not exactly sure how our clinic will run in the future.

1. Initially at least, all transactions will need to be booked in ahead of visiting the clinic.
2. Part of the booking process will ask about vaccination status.
3. Unvaccinated Pet Carers will continue to have their pets treated contactless—as in the pet comes inside but not the owner.
Contactless care takes more time & requires more staff(to hold your pet).

We wish to give you advanced notice of these changes so you hopefully don’t get too many surprises when they occur. Please inform any friends who come to the clinic as we don’t have a complete set of e mail addresses.
(Most of our clients have been very understanding, of the changes, in the way we have to run Henderson Valley Vet. Most clients have been extremely nice, polite & accommodating. If you are angry at the government or covid, be angry at them & please be nice to the staff, who are trying to help you.)

Our Story

Henderson Valley Vet Clinic has been in the valley caring for their animals for 15 years. We pride ourselves on being a dedicated family run business, every pet and their owner is an important and valued member of the Henderson Valley Vet family. Dr. Gary and his wife Jenny are a devoted duo leading a superb team of nurses and cattery staff.

We believe our work is not only looking after the animals but helping families within the wider West Auckland community. Our motto is testament to this - “helping families locally” - as a vet clinic we are for both the animals and their owners. We provide comprehensive service of health care, pet maintenance and surgery. Our cattery is another added feature to our clinic where Dr. Garry’s experience is available in caring and looking after your precious cat.
