Welcome!
Welcome to my Equestrian business page. I am an internationally trained dressage mad rider and coach based in Argyll, Hawkes Bay.
Background and Training:
I have been riding before I could walk and started training horses for pocket money at 10 years old. I have been closely watched and trained by my mother, Lucy Robertshawe. Lucy has been training, breeding and backing horses since she was a girl and has gone up to PSG level in Dressage. In the last decade I have won 13 national titles and over 40 national placings all on horses and ponies I trained myself. My family are firm believers of creating your own school master and therefore I have had bucket loads of experience when it comes to teaching difficult or young horses.
I have been lucky enough to have been trained by some of the worlds very best, including:
Deiter Reidinger: Classical Austrian rider based in Hawaii, Deiter has taught me the classical way of training horses in Dressage.
Jeremy Steinberg: USA| Jeremy is an accomplished FEI High Performance rider, trainer, and instructor and former USEF Youth Dressage Coach who trains and works out of Del Mar, CA.
Peter Storr: UK| An international rider, coach and FEI 4* dressage judge. Peter has represented Britain as a team rider at World and European Championships and as reserve rider for the Olympic Games. A highly regarded international trainer, including eight years as the British Pony Team Trainer where he coached the team to achieve gold in 2013 and 2015. In 2018 British Dressage appointed Peter to the Board as Judges Director and Chairman of the Judges Committee.
David and Serena Pincus: UK| Methods taught at Sheepcote are those that David and Serena learnt from notable establishments including the Spanish Riding School, the Cadre Noir, Warendorf, the stable of Dr Reiner Klimke, the stable of Margit Otto Crepin and Crabbet Park.
Facilites:
At the Steyning I am lucky enough to have over 1500 acres of land to hack over, use for schooling and very basic cross country training. We have a 20m by 60m arena as well as a round pen. Coloured jumping poles, barrels and cavaletti poles.
There are 4 brand new stables, indoor cross ties, hot water and all the feed room your horse could dream of.
I am a firm believer in keeping things exciting and different for the horse. This is in order to continue the development of their brain not just their muscles. With horses in general training I will ensure they get fun days out hacking, schooling sessions on the flat (and arena) and lunging work using multiple systems (dependent on the horse).
I use a combination of classical, modern and western riding on my horses. Due to my vast experience with different kinds of coaches, horses and types of riding I have many tricks up my sleeve to iron out issues and develop new skills for al horses.
Anyone who knows me is fully aware that all horses that come my way are completely dotted upon and loved. I have had many clients leave their horse with me purely to have someone to love them and take them on adventures while they are on holiday. This is a testament to who I am as a horse rider and coach...
