Farm ride for splash (bitless)
A true Mare stare, splash was a gold star ⭐️ child today
New kid on the block is starting to learn how to carry a rider. Gold star ⭐️ for this one.
Two new kids on the block, the chestnut is being schooled and the coloured horse is here for starting and to sell.
Xenas first lesson since August, and the first lesson of the year.
Hi all, guess who’s back…….
Yes that’s right we are back in action offering lessons and horse treks this year but in a new location, Totara North, we have a lovely large flat riding area available as well as farm lands and forests to ride through.
So get a boogie on and come horse riding with me!!!
Sio has officially been retired from competitive work and is now enjoying a chill life teaching the ways of a horse, my new competitive girl will be arriving soon.
Tonka is turning in to a big chunky boy
Last horse out of the yards, prepping potentially for some wild rescue horses that may come in soon.
Fiona is now paddocked with uno and enjoying domestic life.
From a frightened wild mare to learning to trust me.
Available due to no fault of there own, need to make room for some more wild horses to come in. NO TIME WASTERS.

Lova is a beautiful, forward, and fun loving pony who is ready to go on to the next step.
She will suit a confident, energetic child, or be the right pony for someone to bring on further.
Lova loves adventure and is happy to go out on her own or in company. She has trekked extensively, is road safe, and is happy at the beach, on the farm, and in the bush. She swims, and easily negotiates all water obstacles.
Lova is engaged and willing when handled and when facing new challenges. She is naturally athletic and could excel in any discipline. She could be a real all rounder, or excel in competition, as a jumper/eventor. She would also be a suitable cowboy challenge or games mount.
She has been quietly and professionally started.
A scopey and enthusiastic jumper, she is forward, but never rushy. Schooling comfortably at 90cm.
With nice even paces, she is developing consistency in contact.
She can be ridden ba****ck and saddled. Goes equally well in a bit, bitless, or in a halter.
Great to trim, drench, hose and float.
She’s had limited outings, and behaved exceptionally well.
She comes back in after a period of time off without any problems at all.
Lova has been ridden by a variety of people, including beginners, and has never put a foot wrong.
A genuine “1 in a Million” type pony, Lova will only go to the best home.

Grey Gisborne bred mare
Don’t let her age fool you, she has been apart of my trekking/lesson team for the past 6 months, I lightly started her as a 3 year old, and slowly introduced her to jumping and being a kids pony, she has exceeded my expectations, but now it’s time for her to find her forever human.
Great to float, trim, paddocked alone or with others, great to ride alone or out in public.
Very honest mare
Low to medium green
Day 1 of gentling Fiona.
It took a while for her to start trusting me enough to eat out of my hands, she does have a hay pile and other grass piles so she is not forced to eat from my hands, we did multiple sessions so that she can relax and have a little think about what we have done or doing instead of making her feel rushed or nervous.
This was a very special moment seeing the trust she started gaining for me from the start of the session to the end.
Struggling to plan what to do this summer, come swimming with the horses with us or come on a relaxing trail ride, lots of options available to suit you and your family, no age limit as I have youth rides available.
Do you want to learn or see what it takes to train a horse wild or domesticated, I have clinics available, get in touch now to book your spot as spaces are limited.
Everyone meet Fiona, a wild mare we ended up mustering yesterday, unfortunately her c**t (donkey) got away so we will be getting him and the chestnut stallion (Shrek) next time we are up, and maybe even (dragon) the other mare who did not come in with this lot, all the mares will be pregnant so that’s always an exciting surprise.
Are you wanting to learn to ride, or to gain confidence to be around horses or to go on a relaxing trek, or are you an experienced rider looking to improve your riding, well my lessons or treks are perfect for you, they are on professionally schooled horses to a top level, horses in which I have started/trained.
Tonka rising 3 year old c**t it feels like just yesterday he was born
New boys on the block
Meet Doug 3 year old 17hh ish unbroken gelding, today was day 1 of backing him.
New boys on the block
Meet Louie 4 year old unbroken gelding 15.1 hh ish today was day 1 of ground work only and the start of backing as he was a little more reactive, I never rush the process.
Lova all ready to lead a trek. ( don’t mind the extremely muddy paddock) the joys of winter
If your all wondering why my horse lessons or treks may “cost a lot” to some well this is why…….
This cost is per horse:
Feed bill:
- Chaff $42 per month
- Fibre boost $38 per month
- Maxi soy $52 per month
- Versatile $48.50 per month
- High joule $66.95
- All minerals $50 per month
- Hay $16 a bale (I go through 1 to 1 and a 1/2 a day)
- Grazing can cost $20 to $50 or so per horse per week
Farrier:
- shod $140 per month
- Trim $40 per month
(Some horses are shod and some are barefoot)
Dentist:
- $100 per 6 months
Ciropractor:
- $100 per 6 months
Lessons for advanced riders with your own horse:
- can range from anywhere between $90 and $260 or so.
Oh and can’t forget the cost of tack to replace if they break.
Tack
- Saddles anywhere from $2000 to $10,000 (I never buy cheap saddles as that can cause problems for your horse, pain wise)
- Bridals $60
- Girths $80
- Stirrups $60
- Stirrup leathers $40
- Reins $30
- Helmets $60
- Halters $30
- Riding clothes $150
And so on
This price is mostly for the cheaper stuff.
Float upkeep
Car maintenance
(And yes does cost a lot more to maintain a towing wagon or a float, gas is also twice the amount or so)
Then you have other extra expenses like vet bills (mine has gone up to 5k before) or if your horse has done something and need the dentist or Ciropractor more often then what I stated at the top.
I may have missed some things out, competition bills are a lot more expensive this is just owning a horse cost.
Believe me when I say lessons and buying a horse are the cheapest cost to owning or being involved with horses.
I have 7 horses 3 of which are for my lessons/treks you can imagine how much this cost me per horse, anyway have some exciting news to share, I am picking up 2 unbroken geldings tomorrow. Once I start them and they have passed to be able to have beginners on them they will be apart of the trekking team, so from 7 horses I now own 9.
Come join us for some horsey fun on your birthday

I have available spaces this weekend for horse riding lessons or treks, I don’t normally do weekends but the weather was not on our side this last week, pm to book your spot.
When you train you horses to go over random stuff, ft Lova, a mare I started about a year and a half ago. I have a few spaces for horses to come in and start there new adventure. Pm to find out more
Here’s some footage of Ash schooling, once she lowers that lama head she will be a very special girl out there, so because she is so young I do not push them, this is her first time jump schooling, the times she cantered in to the jumps she did that on her own accord, which I’m pleased with as some horses can be a bit reluctant to canter willingly to jumps, for young horses I let them pick their speed when starting out so they can figure it all out and what they need to do and where there foot placement is meant to be.
And finally Lova another greenie I have, isn’t she cute! Unfortunately I didn’t get anything of Sio schooling.
Here’s some footage of Uno my up and coming eventer, very green and young still but once he muscles up and figures out a few more things he will be a very special horse out there.
How my horses greet me (This isn’t all of them) it is very important to keep your horses in a heard setting, horses are very sociable creatures, yes horses kick and bite each other but them doing so is actually very important for their mental health, they are asserting dominance, or are sometimes having a good play with each other, often I see horses being separated or alone because owners are scared of injury, often I see the same horses loosing their mine or becoming dangerous or lacking social skills because they have been made to be alone, let’s do better for our horses.
This could be you one day, I can cater for after school/work hours or mornings, I have a few more spaces for the 1 hour and the 2 hour lessons, you will learn how to care for your horse, learn ground work and natural horsemanship, this is a fun learning environment, pm me to book your lessons now
The two chestnuts Uno and Lova Lova 5 yo (just been started) being put in charge of my lessons until Xena my best and youngest lesson horse is better.
Jay has come to me for confidence building, today was ride 4 and there has already been a huge improvement, I still have space available for starting, schooling, confidence building etc Pm me to book your horse in now.
