Sleepy 🥰
Sleepy was back with us last week for 10 days to enjoy the beach after her last start. She loves cooling down in the water! ☀️
Aztec! 🤩 this boy is the bees knees! We broke him in a couple of years ago as a weedy little two year old, then he came back about a year ago for a wee fresher and is now back to come back into work so that his mum can take over from here 🦄 it is so nice when you do get a horse who needs that time and an owner who is able to give them just that as the time off in between has been the making of a happy horse!
He is such an extrovert with his anxiousness but I just love his way of thinking and willingness to learn. Just a kind wee soul. An open book who tries his best to understand what is being asked and will then process, process and process some more. The kind of horse who really does thrive off of a calm, gentle hand and questions being broken down into little parts, as once he gets it right and knows the answer, he’s got it! 😌
Previously mounting and dismounting was a big worry of his which I spent alot of time on. The repetitive work of setting him up right, getting on, getting off, on and off.. all pays off when you get up on the mounting block and the horse offers to side up instantly even after having not practised this in over a year! Well done Azzy!

Mr Aztec! 2nd ride back with us after a very brief backing about a year ago? Maybe closer to two years 😅 lots of learning going on but the foundation work seems to have stuck pretty good! 😎 Good boy Azzy!
Irish and Alfie
One is not like the others! 🤭 yesterday morning as we rode out onto the beach with Alfie and Irish (racehorse) we were accompanied by some of Isola’s racehorses. Let’s not tell Alfie he’s not built for the race track 🤪

With ZeeZee having a last minute cancelled viewing today it meant rather than going to the arena.. we got to do fun stuff! 🤪 ZeeZee being the perfect buddy and leader for Mr Alfie on his first beach trip and 4 very happy dogs to get to go for a big run! 🦄

Received this wee video the other day of miss Heidi a breaker we had recently having her first proper ride with her owners since heading home about 3-4 weeks ago!
She certainly wasn’t the easiest little lady at times but she was very rewarding and has an unbeatable willingness which will see her go far. What a little trooper she is! New rider, new gear, time off, out on her own navigating some pretty hefty Gizzy hills 🤩 no sweat!

It’s take your kid to work day! 🤭 total and utter reassurance that if you fall off.. it will in fact hurt! 🤣 Cruz of course taking great care of Rylie even though Rylie gets super nervous and is genuinely scared of riding! Poor kid 😅

The super duper cool Mr Cruz is back with us for about the zillionth time over the years! But potentially will be his last as he is on the market! 😢
After being turned out for quite some time over winter he was rather stoked to be back out to the forest stretching his legs this morning! This boy is an absolute dude!! Not as dead as a doorknob but he is safe, reliable and loads of fun!

Sassy and ZeeZee
What do we do on our rides you may ask…?! Well.. I probably burn everyone’s ears off by laughing so much 😆 a wee bareback/bitless refresher for miss Sassy this morning, having not been ridden bareback and in a halter since she was last with us to be broken in. I think she put up with me very well 🤭😍
Probably one of my favourite spots in the forest atm 😌 Miss Heidi on a solo ride yesterday. Very good girl! She has been through this wee puddle once before but yesterday was a little more daunting with the swimming dogs 🤣 so cute! Well done Heidi!
ZeeZee Abderry 13/9/23
ZeeZees little 50cm round at Abderry 🦄 Though not much to many, this is a huge achievement for a pony who once said no to the smallest questions asked of her so I could not be more proud! People probably looked at us funny as we were walking out of the ring on the buckle with me grinning from ear to ear!
When you approach things with no expectations you will never be disappointed and ZeeZee has reminded me of this constantly in her training. Taking her for the horse she is on each new day and not the horse she was the day before 😌
