The council are pushing a limit on how many dogs are walked at a time, which will have devastating consequences for the dogs, owners, and talented colleagues I love. And many, many more.
Only 0.7% of dog-related complaints to council involve multiple dogs, and this number includes everyday owners. The majority of complaints come from issues like untrained pets, roaming dogs, and underfunded animal control.
The council's approach doesn't tackle these core issues. Instead, it will make it unsustainable for me and highly trained industry colleagues to offer adventure walks and promote untrained hobbyists to enter the space.
We agree with council that something needs to be done. However, their current proposal is just PR that ignores real solutions like stronger regulation and supporting trainers to help the public with their dogs.
If you think that trainers like me have helped your pets, please help us advocate for a better solution.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you,
Sharn
