Sooty may not even be a year old yet, but this sweet young girl has already shown remarkable resilience. She was found by a kind woman who had just lost half her home to a fire. Amidst the chaos, little Sooty appeared seeking food, warmth, and comfort. Although her rescuer couldn’t keep her due to smoke damage and an upcoming move, she made sure Sooty would have the chance at a forever home she truly deserves.

After coming into our care, Sooty was desexed, but things took a frightening turn when she developed a serious uterine infection — one that could have been fatal if left untreated. Thanks to quick action from our vet team, she made a full recovery. With her wound healing beautifully, Sooty is now ready for her next chapter.

Sooty can be shy and timid in new spaces or around unfamiliar people, so she’ll need a patient adopter who can give her time to settle and feel safe. But once she does, her affectionate side shines through — she becomes talkative, cuddly, and incredibly loving. A quieter household with fewer visitors would help her feel most at ease.

If you’re looking for a brave young companion with a gentle heart, Sooty might just be your girl. She’s available now for pre-adoption and ready to bring warmth, gratitude, and love to her forever home.

She is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and litter trained. Located in Mt Albert

✨ Gomez – Surgery & Recovery Update ✨

Our sweet, affectionate Gomez has had quite a journey since his rescue back in October 2022.

Recently, Gomez underwent eye entropion surgery to address ongoing health issues, and we’re so proud of how bravely he handled it. The operation went smoothly, and he’s now recovering beautifully with plenty of rest, comfort, and fuss from his carers. He’s already showing us his happy, relaxed self again.

He still needs to heal a little more before he can have his upcoming dental surgery — the quote for this is attached.

Gomez has been through so much, yet he remains one of the sweetest souls we’ve ever rescued. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported his journey. In the coming weeks, once he’s well on the way to full recovery, we will be advertising him for adoption after being surrendered back to our care by his original adopter.

💕 Help Gomez Heal — He Deserves His Happy Ending

Our sweet, affectionate Gomez has been through so much and still greets everyone with love. He was rescued by Pet Whisperer Rescue in October 2022 after being found at a medical centre in Weymouth.

When he first came into care, Gomez tested FIV-positive — which simply means he needs to be an indoor-only cat and the only feline in his home. With care and love, FIV cats live long, happy lives. Gomez also had some stress-related skin issues that soon cleared, and in April 2023, he found his forever home.

Sadly, during a recent stay at Lynfield Vets’ cattery, Gomez’s ongoing eye problems worsened. He was diagnosed with:

Entropion in both eyes (eyelids turning inward, causing pain and ulcers)

Severe dental disease and gingivitis

He now needs two surgeries — one for his eyelids and one for his dental treatment.

Eye surgery: $800

Dental surgery: $1,200–$1,500
Goal: $2,000

When his previous owners couldn’t afford the procedures, they made the heartbreaking decision to book him in for euthanasia. Thankfully, the amazing team at Lynfield Vets asked them to surrender Gomez instead — and he’s now safely back with Pet Whisperer Rescue.

We’re determined to give this beautiful boy the pain-free life he deserves. Gomez is a gentle, people-loving cat who adores cuddles and chatting with his humans. He’s happiest indoors, close to those who love him, and his foster mum says he’s “worth every bit of effort.”

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CATTERY 🐈
Season is now in FULL swing with multiple newborns, kittens and young adults

We are looking for a volunteers to help in our cattery in New Lynn

We have loads of kittens🐈, some abandoned cats🐱 left by owners 😢

Cattery volunteer consists of feeding, tidying pens, cleaning of bowls, bedding, litter trays. Of course also you get LOADS OF CUDDLES 💕💕 and enjoy bonding TIME to those who have had a rough start to life and can be quite sick so they need you to help them feel love 💗.

This gentle 3-month-old kitten has the most beautiful soul. He has soft, shiny white fur on her tummy and all four little paws — He’s truly adorable!

He loves to play, especially with children. Chasing balls, exploring, and gentle playtime are her favourites.

He may be a little shy when he first meets new people, but once he warms up, he becomes a loving cuddle companion. He enjoys sitting on your lap, purring softly, and soaking up gentle hugs.

ZEKE'S FINAL UPDATE 💔

As I do this post tears fall down my face, that I had to say goodbye Zeke this morning at 5:00 a.m.
He concerned me a lot yesterday as his vision seem to be completely gone and he seemed distressed as he was constantly walking around his pen and wouldn't stay still for very long
He came to me for a couple of moments of cuddles which I truly appreciate it because he's been through such hell and back, and to feel his love was beautiful thing even while he was going downhill, I'll treasure the moments. 🫶
This morning I had feeling I needed to get up and check on him and he was struggling to breathe so at 5 am I rushed to the after hours as I feel it was his time 💔
When at After hours, the vet saw he was severely anemic and struggling to breathe so he was on his way across the 🌈 Bridge.
He had lost his appetite and with the loss of vision there was likely neurological damage

It breaks my heart because we tried everything to give him a good chance at life but his injuries were just too extreme for him to recover 😭
I brought him home and have buried him in our little garden next to Mr G.

Zeke was only here for a short time but seeing him trust me was a beautiful thing and I know that his last days were filled with love, comfort, yummy food and conditional love
