IMPORTANT NOTICE: Northern Remutaka 1080 operations – February 2025

Today, OSPRI contractors EcoFX are applying non-toxic cereal baits aerially by helicopter in Pākuratahi Forest. The baits will be laid in preparation for an application of sodium fluoroacetate (1080) in the following weeks to reduce possum populations.

The park will remain open during the application of non-toxic cereal baits, but there may be some restricted access from Remutaka Hill Road for short periods of time. You may continue using the park as usual until the 1080 is applied.
