It's a sad day in our house today as we pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen proclaimed that her dogs were part of her family, and was an avid animal lover. She supported over 30 animal charities, groups and associations, and supported a raft of legislation to protect animals. Above all, she was a remarkable woman who will be missed.

Thank you for your service. R.I.P. Queen Elizabeth II. 👑🙏❤️

So what is the advice for walking your dog at Level 4? As with anything, there is quite a bit of misunderstanding.🤔🙄🐕

The main risk is not that your dog can spread Covid-19, but that you will break 2 metre social distancing if you need to get your dog back on leash around others. So the advice is to walk on leash to keep your bubble safe. This article from Companion Animals New Zealand explains it really well, and addresses dog walking if someone in your house has Covid-19.

‼ There is zero evidence that dogs can spread Covid-19 on their fur according to the CDC, so there is no need to bathe or disinfect your dog (see here - https://www.cdc.gov/healthypets/covid-19/pets.html).

Happy birthday to our beautiful boy Hudson who turns three. His first birthday with us was celebrated today - full of cuddles, presents and...birthday cake! The peanut butter carrot cake was a total hit. Forty five minutes to cook, four minutes to demolish! 🐶🎂😋
