Let's get to know Moose, who was named Moose as it was predicted he was going to be huuuge, and he lived up to the expectation!

My official name is Moose but I also answer to Moo Monster, House Pony, Muesli, Moo and Goose.

I am a 4 year old weimaraner and I live in Alpine Estate. I grew up in the Hawkes Bay but mum picked me up from the Tron. Wanaka is definitely an upgrade!

Some of my favourite things are FOOD! I am a large stallion so I can fit a heap of things in my belly, including avocado stones, scrunchies, cardboard and tissues.

I have also learnt to open doors including the fridge door so I am always under supervision in the kitchen. I also love to sizzle myself in front of the fireplace at night until my belly turns pink.

I dislike lawnmowers, weedeaters and my greatest fear is being alone for a long time.

I was selected and in training for the correction centre in Hawkes Bay to sniff out phones, drugs and tobaccos but I grew too big to fit in the police officers travel crate so I got expelled for being too large and became a house kitchen sniffer instead. Mum is super proud of me as I am also a registered Wanaka dog blood donor so if anything happens to you I've got your back!

I am a recent member of the Dog Squad and I enjoy startling the other dogs with my big deep bark, and trying to squeeze through the small gaps in the bushes with the smaller dogs. It's all in the wiggle!

This week was a record breaker, with a huge 56 dogs hitting the trails! (Must be a new snow week!)

More dogs means an epic 87 kms covered through the forest, around and above the lake and river and of course a Mt Iron summit or two!

We also welcomed Fred into the squad - our 9th vizsla!

-4 has been our coldest temperature so far, will next week mean more records? Let’s go! 🐾

This week we welcomed Moose, Maisie and Rosie to the squad. Dexter, Billie, Ferg, Rusty and Finn made a comeback and so did the SUN! ☀️

The Wagger of the week is back, he's our loveable, over enthusiastic, slightly slobbery and destruction jousting machine Ferg.

My official name is Fergus but I also answer to Fergaloid, Fungus, Brutas Maximus, Fergburger and the Pest and I have a gigantic head to fit my gigantic brains!

I was born in Wellington and I am a 2.5 year old Black Labrador. I live in Kirimoko and my human is Dan, I was named after his Irish heritage (I was almost called Murphy!)

My favourite things are chasing rabbits, snacks, playing in the snow, treats, swimming, breakfast, car rides and dinner.

I like to make sure everyone knows I am going for a walk when we are driving there, I squeal at the top of my lungs all the way there with my head out the window and I love it when humans and dogs stare at me in disbelief when we go past.

I love swimming and mud but I hate showers and baths, and I would rather eat anything over fruit and vegetables, this was proven when I preferred to eat a sock and then vomited it back up on Dan's lap when he was driving. Oops!

I also love escaping from my house and going on solo runs, I have been a regular on the Wanaka lost pets page and I even featured in Dunedin after someone found me running fast along St Clair Beach. Catch me if you can!

I have been a member of the Dog Squad for over 2 years, and I'm happy going anywhere with anyone. I am known to sound like an elephant crashing through the forest and am also the reigning Dog Squad stick, branch and tree jousting champion. The bigger the better!
