Unfortunately, as I predicted it is now Elliot’s turn in intensive care.

Elliot and his sister both have Calicivirus, both have painful ulcers on their tongues, which explains Elliot’s reluctance to eat. Elliot’s temperature is extremely low. He’s had pain relief and antibiotics have been prescribed to help support them both to fight this nasty virus.

Elliot’s sister is gaining weight, I am feeling confident she may pull through. Elliot however, may or may not win this battle.

This post is dedicated to Nicky Robinson, your love, compassion, determination and commitment, to catching and securing Sassy, has ultimately changed her life forever.

Sassy has found her purr ♥️

When I first meet Nicky, she considered herself ‘more of a dog person’.

I think it’s clear, Nicky also has a soft spot for cats 😊

This is Elliot, he’s 4.5 weeks of age. Ideally he should be weighing around 400-500grms.

Elliot has gained a mere 16grams since Friday.

Please send Elliot some positive strength to eat more!!

Waterlily is heading off to her forever home tomorrow, I am going to miss this sweet, sweet girl!!

Thumbelina has regained all the weight she lost while she was critically ill, she is still not 100 percent back to her old self (she still coughs occasionally), but, hopefully she is well enough to receive her 2nd vaccination at her vet check tomorrow.

Tigerlily is on the mend, however, both her kids are quite poorly, I’m bottle feeding them both, 4 hourly, neither of them are gaining a significant amount of weight.

I have a range of kittens being treated for either eye infections 3-4 times a day or gastro issues, so this is also keeping me on my toes.

And, to top things off, I respond to a request to help a Mum and kittens living rough on Saturday afternoon, I have completed 7 round trips, 1.5 hours there and back, to find that I have inadvertently uncovered an animal hoarding situation. All felines trapped were friendly, but in an absolutely horrific state of health 😞 A BIG thank you to SPCA Wellington/Wairarapa for all your help, support, advice and for taking these poor souls into your care today!!!

Apologies to everyone who has contacted me over the last few days about adopting kittens. I will get back to you as soon as I’ve had a chance to recuperate 😊

We rescued another wee soul today, who desperately needed our help.

This poor girl is absolutely infested with fleas, her eyes were sealed shut, with muck.

Welcome to the first day of the life you deserve, little one ♥️

Please give a BIG Kitty Kingdom welcome to Sassy!

Just prior to Christmas, Nicky Robinson gave me a hand to catch 8 stray cats that had taken up residence in the bush, behind her property. That number more than doubled within a few weeks when the Queens gave birth to 9 kittens between them, bringing the total to 17.

On New Year’s Eve, Nicky got in touch to let me know she had spied another wee kitten that seemed to be all by herself.

Between one thing and another, I hadn’t managed to get another trap back to the property.

On Friday evening, Nicky, took pity on this wee soul, that was all alone, getting pounded by the torrential rain and bone chilling winds.

Nicky devised a plan to secure this wee girl. Her and her partner spent over 17 hours yesterday, laying out a Hansel and Gretel style trail of delicious food to lure Sassy into the safety of their laundry. Just before 10pm Sassy entered the laundry. Nicky as quick as a flash, sprinted around the outside of her home and managed to shut the door!! Sassy was secure!!

I received a message from Nicky, just after 10pm…it simply read….Helpppppppp!!! I caught the kitten 😆

I raced over and collected Sassy, she then received a much needed flea and worm treatment, before spending her first night indoors with us, safe, warm and fed.

Sassy’s future is looking a lot brighter now!! Thank you SO much Nicky for all your help!! Collectively we’ve saved another wee soul from a life of misery, living rough on the streets!! 🙌🏼

Today it was Tigerlily’s turn at the vet, her motherhood days are officially over as she has Mastitis (Breast Infection)

I’ve taken over bottle feeding her kids, who have both dropped a significant amount of weight.

On a positive note, three felines went off to their forever homes today and I potentially have a home lined up for Waterlily too 😊

Calla is making some fantastic progress. She’s being super brave/trusting and slowly opening up to me.

Her four kittens (3 girls and a boy) are doing great ♥️

🥳HAPPY NEW YEAR🥳

Thumbelina slept through the fireworks, she was purring in her sleep 😴 She is such a happy wee girl!

🥳HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳

As we head into the New Year, I’d like to thank each and everyone of you! Collectively we helped over 300 felines 🙌🏼 That’s 300 stray/entire felines off the streets, that won’t be reproducing ever again 😀

Thank you SO much team!!!

A BIG thank you to CareVets Kilbirnie who have managed to squeeze us in a couple of surgery appointments tomorrow.

Two of our Queens will be looking for their forever homes this weekend.

If you are looking to add a young, affectionate, female feline to your family, please get in touch.

Please note, we will NOT have any more kittens available for adoption until mid January 😊

Afternoon tea served in bed for Calla. The OCD in me is desperate to swap out her bedding, but it poses far too many risks to her and the kids.

Naw, even Cheezel is giving Thumbelina some love 💕

28/12/2024

Deployed is a neutered male, there is no point flirting with him, Tigerlily 😳😆

How’s the diet going Cheezel? Fluff off, Alice
