It is ALL go in the Kitty Kingdom maternity ward at the moment…
We have healthy kittens, waiting on surgery appointments, we have sick kittens being treated for Giardia and eye infections, we have Waterlily doing a brilliant job of nursing her wee ones, we have Calla (and Tigerlily not in the video) expecting kittens soon.
We also have a heavily pregnant, new arrival (the last kitty in the video). This poor girl has avoided being trapped at all costs. After, 3 weeks of trying. I decided to pull the trap this morning. When I arrived at the property, I found her asleep on the doorstep, without hesitation, I grabbed her. I didn’t have a plan in place, my car was locked and I was unable to open the trap next to me with one hand 😆
Somehow, I managed to juggle this poor girl in one hand and find my car keys with the other. We literally wrestled for around a minute, while I opened my boot, opened a carrier and secured her.
I’m not sure who got the biggest adrenaline rush, but my heart is still pumping 😆 And, surprisingly I don’t have a single bite or a scratch on me 🤷🏼♀️
Tigerlily

Tigerlilly is making some fantastic progress.
She is still a very frightened, anxious girl, but her eyes have softened. She is getting used to our daily routine and adapting so well ♥️
These little ones have had SO many baths now, they start to purr when being dried off.
It’s a beautiful day in Wellington, so they can finish off drying in the sun, under Cheezel’s watchful eye.
(These kittens have the runs, most likely due to a change in diet. I am literally elbow deep in 💩 most days at the moment…sigh 😫)

Calla is food driven, which is a bonus.
The poor spice kids have been spreading gastro and conjunctivitis between themselves.
Lots of cleaning, bum bathing and eye medication for this lot.
Our terrified wee girl, Tigerlily, is pregnant 😞

Another wee girl, who is also most likely pregnant.
Had an early start this morning, trying to secure these little ones. They were all too light to trigger a trap.
I’ve been bitten, scratched, screamed at, sworn at, shat on, pee’d on, and at a guess I’ve covered at least 5km, walking around in circles all day.
By 3pm, I had hand caught four or the five kittens.
Guess which kitten I finally secured at 6pm this evening?
