Advertising on behalf for rehoming. We are moving to a kiwi conservation area where we are not allowed to have pets, so unfortunately Maggie won't be able to come with us... 😪
She is a long-haired tabby, approximately 4 and a half years old. She's been microchipped, vaccinated, and desexed. She's a predominantly outdoor cat, preferring to only come inside for little visits and a bit of couch time, but loves being outdoors most of the time, which means she often needs leaves and twigs brushed out of her fluffiness....
She needs a lot of love and understanding, and once she gets used to you she can be very affectionate 😍

🐾 Meet Chilli, the charming little chatterbox of the kitten world! He’s a master at reminding you when it’s time for breakfast and dinner, ensuring you never miss a meal. Though he may be a bit reserved at first, just offer him a tasty treat, and you’ll quickly become fast friends! Chilli gets along wonderfully with both cats and dogs. His favorite pastimes include chasing bell toys and enjoying a good scratch under the chin, but nothing beats his love for cheese 🧀. Bring Chilli home, and you’ll discover a loyal companion who’s always ready for a chat! 🐾

✨Double the cuteness, double the love, meet Milly and Harry, the purr-fect pair of bonded kittens ready to steal your heart!✨
Both Milly and Harry are shy around strangers, but given some time, they will shower you with all the love and affection you could ever need! They simply love to keep you company. Milly has a playful, mischievous side; she loves to steal makeup brushes, socks, and any food that Harry isn’t interested in! Harry is a real sweetheart who enjoys cuddling up and sleeping on you, and his friendly nature will surely make you melt. They would thrive in a quiet home with older kids, and both are good with dogs, though Harry isn’t particularly fond of adult cats. These two are the best of friends and are sure to bring joy to your home.

Look at the amazing selection treat has on offer today
Meet this lovely young girl who is looking for her forever home. She has been desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and has a sweet personality that shines once she’s comfortable. Unfortunately, she’s not fond of living with other cats and needs a space where she can be the center of attention or have just one companion at most.
🐾 About Her:
- Loves attention once she settles in
- Needs a home where she’s the only pet or has a maximum of one companion
- Currently overwhelmed in her foster home with 10 rescue cats and 3 dogs, and it’s not fair for her to be kept in a small area
Jayden, who has been caring for her, would love to keep her but it’s just not possible with the current situation. Let’s help find her a loving home where she can feel safe and happy! If you or someone you know can give her the home she deserves, please get in touch.

Can sibling love get any sweeter than this ❤️🐈⬛
These youngsters are Pablo and Griselda. They are playful, affectionate and very family friendly.
If you’d like to meet these baby cats, send us an email at [email protected] 😻
This is Pablo post discovering that his grown up friend is very soft 😻
At least that’s what we think. Otherwise not sure how to break the news to Pablo that his grown up brother is unlikely to give milk 🥛😹
If you’d like to meet young Pablo, drop us an email at [email protected]!
Escobar might sound like a questionable character, but this wee guy is actually a real cutie! 😻. He’s developed a strong liking for a piece of fabric and carry’s this around with him 😹.
If you’d like to meet Escobar or any of his equally cute siblings, drop us an email at [email protected]!
These little munchkins have just come up for adoption 😻🏡.
These are some very playful and personable sibling. We will be uploading them to our Ready to Adopt album over the next day 😺😺
Check out this compilation of Milo and her snuggly ways 😻🐈⬛. Milo is very sweet and loving. Both Milo and brother Simba are discounted to $150 and have been waiting a while for homes 🏡. If you know someone on the hunt for a puuuurfect companion, please share our post 😺

You got this little one 🫶🏾
Shout out to foster Nadia for teaching our newest litter of rescue kittens how to eat their meals 🥹❤️
So I didn't go on an Easter holiday BUT Sweetie our blind cat did?! 😅
Good on her!
Sweetie's fosters had booked a getaway and lucky for Sweetie, she went with them 🤭
She's up for adoption to someone who can keep her indoors/catio type access/harness adventures. Don't be fooled, she may have no eyes but she climbs, plays, chases, and runs about like every other kitty!
Good morning Mouse 🐁
Mouse is a sweet silver tabby girl looking for someone to adopt her.
She's very sweet to her chosen person and would do wonderfully in a house with older kids, adults, older couples etc. She would definitely be an awesome winter heater 😅
Match made in heaven 🙌
Ali and Baby Spice aren't related, we have paired them together as we know that kittens who grow up alone turn into buttholes 😅
They are coming up for adoption shortly and are looking for a home with older kids/adults.
Ali is a one eyed kitten we've brought up from a vet in Auckland to save, and Baby Spice is a wild born kitten from Waipu area that we have tamed up 🐅
Mama Elizabeth might be getting a bit tired of mothering duties. Take a look at the video of her with Marilyn and Audrey 😂
Thank fully, Elizabeth and her family of Hollywood stars are all ready for adoption ⭐️ 🐈⬛ ⭐️. Elizabeth is an amazing mama, she’s super loving to her babies and her foster family. Plus, she has a really adorable little chirp 😹❤️
Daughter Marilyn (silver tabby) is bubbling with confidence. Sister Audrey is a little more reserved but will chat away just like mama Elizabeth 😻
These guys can be adopted together or seperately. Despite sometimes being over the kitten energy, we don’t think mama Elizabeth would mind going with them. If you’d like to meet these Hollywood beauties, email [email protected]!

While on his way to the desexing clinic, Casper stopped in at his foster mother's workplace AND GOT HIMSELF ADOPTED 😅
Maybe the trick to easier adoptions is to tour local businesses with our sweet sweet kitties 😅😅
This is Jessie and he’s a huge football fan!
Jessie is getting desexed on Thursday so he is nearly ready for adoption 😻

Whangarei Cat Rescue is a community run shelter, we are a small team of volunteers who spend our days fixing up the cats and kittens forgotten about and left to struggle on the streets.
We currently foster our kittens out into homes all around Whangarei, as families provide the best kind of love and care these babies need before they are adoption ready. We take in kittens from roadside gutters, rubbish bags, bushes, beaches and most of all, free to any homes posts we see on Facebook. In our efforts we hope to minimise the number of felines struggling to survive every single day across not only Whangarei, but Northland itself as we expand.
We have rescued, rehabiliated and rehomed hundreds of kittens. We have also lost some too. We actively promote running a no kill shelter which means 99% of kittens that come into our care will not be put to sleep, we fight tooth and nail to help every kitten survive and thrive. Unfortunately we don’t always get kittens early enough to save them and some die in our arms, leaving us heartbroken and feeling a failure. BUT we always remember the other five hundred plus we can and do save each year, are worth the pain of helping animals because we can.
In 2020, with the help of a local lawyer we have become a registered charity so we can expand our efforts further. We are looking to provide desexing for low income community owned cats so that we hopefully see less kittens needing our help in the following seasons. We are also looking to apply for grants and for the possibility of opening our own official shelter or pop-up adoption ‘shop’.
Thank you for following our journey as a group of very tired people with a crazy ‘hobby’ to rescue cats and kittens, thank you for your support!
🐱 If you would like to donate Whiskers Kitten biscuits or Pet Milk to our shelter, we have five drop off locations for donated items at
Eko Hub, The Piggery Bookshop, Kamo Pet and Aquatic Centre, Waipu Natural Healh and Animal Natural Health in Kaiwaka.
