It has come to our attention that some individuals are claiming that they are training with Dog Training with Kasey(DTWK) for service dog work. Unfortunately, these individuals are not dog training clients & have made false claims.

As we have learned more about this situation, it has been revealed that the dogs these individuals are referring to are not even so much as potty trained. 😞

It is also important to note that DTWK is currently NOT offering service dog training and has not offered this since launching.

We are sorry if you have met these dogs under the assumption they were trained by Kasey. This is not a reflection of her work and we may have lost clients due to the misinformation.

Kasey is FearFree Certified and uses science-based training with your pup to create positive and lasting training results. Dog Training With Kasey is a subset of our Pet Retention Program and your sessions financially support our mission work. Yoshi may have severe anxiety challenges, but the progress he continues to make is promising 😍

Crating is becoming more normal routine for him now and crate games have been paying off. He is gaining trust and walking in confidently at times now. This is a huge improvement from where he was just a couple weeks ago. He is still struggling with house training but has made progress so we will keep at it! 💪

This morning, he worked on some counter-conditioning around kitties. I will recommend he is in a home either without cats or in a home that can crate him when he is not supervised around cats.

Yoshi did an awesome job responding to the clicker & later decided to relax & chew on a bone. 🥳

Yoshi continues to make positive progress. We are just over the 3 week mark since he arrived back with us. This means he is now understanding the routine of the home and able to relax a little more. More of his personality will start to shine ✨️ as is evident with his playfulness finally showing!

He is also meeting other dogs at his pace to determine compatibilities and play styles. Dogs are social learners so he's also learning "how to dog" like a pro from them as well. He has been successful with both my spayed females, 55lb and 110lb.

Yoshi has continued to struggle with anxiety despite my efforts with exercise and routine. His veterinarian and I were able to discuss my concerns last Monday; we've added gabapentin to his medications. After a week of being on gaba, Yoshi is FINALLY experiencing relief. 🥹

Managing his anxiety has been my first and foremost concern. We are on the right pathway with experts by our side. 🥰

Yoshi is still progressing in an upward trend as desired. As any dog or person with anxiety, he has good days and bad days. Thanks to his Doctor, we've got a solid medication plan in place to get him feeling better. This is in addition to daily exercise.

Yoshi is a good boy with unique challenges. He suffers from both crate and separation anxiety. The crate anxiety is being worked through with crate games but will take time. He is also in a specialized anxiety proof crate.

In the past, Yoshi has cleared 4ft fencing with ease and attempted to jump out of a 3rd story window. 😰 He needs safety measures in place at all times to support his needs.

What else should you know about Yoshi? He belches. Every. Day. 😂

Yoshi is beginning to settle in 🩵 His anxiety is still a work in progress but there has been improvement. He's been working on crate games which has gone much smoother than I anticipated for him. 🙏 Additionally, this evening he was a wonderful walking pal on his 'sniffari' by minding the end of the long line, not pulling, checkin in with me often, and respectfully watching bicyclists pass by.

Yoshi will be available for adoption through Animal Empowerment League once he has decompressed and works through some basic training 🥰

Tonight Yoshi worked on intro to clicker training, recall, and fine tuning his 'sit'. He is also working on crate training to counter-condition his current negative association with crating. I'm very proud of Yoshi for the progress he has made already this week! 😚
