Shelby Semel Dog Training LLC I hold Puppy Socialization Classes/ Basic Obedience Classes.

I am a positive reinforcement trainer who wants to make the process of training your dog ( or modifying its behavior) fun, exciting, and easy! I also do 1-2 hour in-home private consultations for the following issues:

Puppy training ( barking, nipping, chewing, housebreaking, apartment set-up)
Adjustment to NYC
Leash Frustration/ Aggression ( barking and lunging on leash)
Handling issues
Doorbel

l Excitement ( barking at buzzer, strangers entering)
Socialization for shy dogs- bringing them out of their shell.

Early socialization is key to having a confident and well adjusted dog in a big city (or anywhere really!) - and joining a Puppy Kindergarten class is a great way to accomplish that!

The class includes:
- Trainer-led play: gives your dog a chance to meet other dogs in a safe way while burning off some puppy energy. This is a time where you will also learn about dog body language and how to have safe play!
- Intentional socialization: socialization includes more than just meeting other dogs and people, so in class we cover introducing sounds (fireworks, city sounds, etc), common household objects (like a broom or a vacuum) and helping your puppy get accustomed to wheels (think skateboards, bikes etc)
- Introduction to basic training: we will cover some basic cues and training exercises that will give you and your puppy a great foundation
- Opportunity to ask questions: our trainers will cover a variety of common puppy topics and you'll have a chance to ask questions as well!
