A case of Demodectic and Sarcoptic Mange in a 3-year-old Shih-Tzu
Botchoi was brought for a skin check up due to severe pruritus, erythema, furunculosis, excorations and alopecia.
After microscopic examination, he was diagnosed with Sarcoptic mites which caused severe itching, allergic reactions and scabs & the other one was Demodectic mites which reside inside the hair follicles, it is associated in genetically predisposed or immunocompromised dogs. It can be localized or generalized both in juvenile and adult.
After 2 weeks of treatment, here is Botchoi’s before and after photos. 🩵💙
