A Memorable Educational Excursion: Sampaga Day Care Pupils Explore the Wonders of Hydroponic Farming at Farm Cup

Recently, the young minds of Sampaga Day Care pupils embarked on an enlightening journey to Farm Cup, a thriving hydroponic farm situated in the heart of Brgy. Sampaga. This unique field trip was made possible through the generosity and expertise of farm owners Rachelle Abenes and Alvin Balmes, who welcomed the children with open arms, eager to share the wonders of hydroponic farming.

The Exploration Begins:

As the pupils arrived at Farm Cup, a palpable sense of excitement filled the air. Rachelle, Alvin and Vilma, the passionate stewards of the hydroponic farm, greeted the children with warm smiles and enthusiasm. The day kicked off with an engaging introduction to hydroponics, explaining the innovative methods employed in cultivating crops without soil.

Hydroponics Unveiled:

The children were ushered into the heart of Farm Cup's hydroponic system, where rows of vibrant greenery floated gracefully in nutrient-rich water. Rachelle, Alvin and Vilma elucidated the intricate details of hydroponic farming, highlighting its environmental benefits, resource efficiency, and the ability to grow crops in controlled conditions. The pupils were enthralled as they witnessed firsthand how plants thrived without traditional soil.

Hands-On Learning:

The educational experience extended beyond mere observation, as the children were given the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities. Rachelle and Alvin guided the pupils in planting seeds and transplanting seedlings into the hydroponic system, fostering a sense of connection between the young learners and the food they consume.

A Feast for the Senses:

Farm Cup did not just cater to the intellect; it provided a feast for the senses. The children were encouraged to taste the fresh produce cultivated on the hydroponic farm, experiencing flavors that transcended their everyday meals. The fragrant herbs and blooming flowers and vibrant vegetables captivated their senses, leaving an indelible mark on their young palates.

Closing Thoughts:

As the day concluded, Rachelle, Alvin and Vilma gathered the pupils for a heartfelt conversation about the importance of sustainable farming practices and the role each person plays in preserving the environment. The children left Farm Cup with a newfound appreciation for the world of agriculture and a sense of responsibility towards nurturing the planet.

In retrospect, the visit to Farm Cup proved to be a valuable and unforgettable educational experience for the Sampaga Day Care pupils. Rachelle Abenes and Alvin Balmes not only opened the doors to their hydroponic farm but also planted seeds of curiosity and awareness in the hearts and minds of the young learners, ensuring that the impact of this educational excursion will continue to grow for years to come.
