Heavy levels of "Vog" or volcanic smog from Taal Volcano has been observed over the past 30 hours comprising sulphur dioxide and other possibly harmful emissions.

LGUs in Cavite, Laguna, and neighboring areas have been affected. Please stay indoors, shut all your windows, drink plenty of water, and wear N95 Face Masks if possible.

As for your pet dogs and cats, please follow the following pet-approved practices to maximize their well-being.

With summer already here, it's important for pet owners to be aware of the signs and symptoms of heat stroke in dogs. If left untreated, heat stroke can quickly progress and become more severe, leading to death. The early signs of heat stroke in dogs may include some or all of the following symptoms:

- High body temperature
- Restlessness or agitation
- Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
- Drooling, often with thick saliva

If you notice any of these symptoms in your dog, it's important to take immediate action to cool them down and seek veterinary care as soon as possible!

On reports of a dog named Killua having been beaten to death in Camarines Sur:

PAWS is as outraged as all the netizens who have tagged us on social media and assures the public that we are working on this and that we will file a case.

PAWS STATEMENT ON KILLUA

We condemn the brutal killing of this dog.

The animal offender claims that this was an act of self-defense but video evidence shows that Killua, the dog, was being chased by him and none of the elements of self-defense were present.

Further, there are humane ways of animal control. The City Veterinarian’s Office can be called in for this task. Clearly, there was no reason for Killua to be killed in this manner as he was not harming any one.

PAWS is an organization which has worked for 70 years speaking up for animals and promoting their kind and humane treatment. We are extremely upset and dismayed that this crime has happened and the organization would like to emphasize once more the importance of filing criminal cases.

Because the pet owner and witnesses have submitted affidavits, PAWS will be able to file charges of violation of the Animal Welfare Act and ensure that the person responsible for this crime will be held accountable.

We call on witnesses of other crimes against animals that have been posted on social media to step forward and cooperate with law enforcement agents and seek help, if needed, for the filing of the cases.

Tagging on social media will not result in punishment unless a criminal complaint is filed in Court.

The law is there and we all have a collective duty to protect animals by doing our part, especially witnesses and those with personal knowledge —by making sure that these cases are filed.

We can end the impunity of animal offenders by filing these cases and we cannot afford to delay nor remain silent.

The time to act is now because the animals depend on us.

Let us not let the animals down.

Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri on Tuesday expressed his full support for the Revised Animal Welfare Act as a priority measure of the Senate.

Along with some furry friends, Zubiri said he “whole-heartedly” supports the Senate Bill No. 2458, which was sponsored by Sen. Grace Poe.

The measure comes following the recent brutal killings of dogs, like Killua, who was found lifeless in a sack, and Ericka, who was stabbed to death by a Korean national. (Facebook/Senate of the Philippines)

Let's help Noah 🙏

As many already know, Noah is the stray dog, who when rescued, has shown the severity of the cruelty and abuse he received from an unknown human. The w0unds are not consistent with a vehicular trauma thus the assumption that someb0dy did this intenti0nally.

Noah’s skůll is frācturėd, his fåcial skīn is alm0st sepårated from the entire hėad, his eyes are blīnd from the slicīng made on the fåce, he has w0unds all over including the legs and his nails are very, very long. What he sustained is unbelīėvable and inc0mprehensible.

I am of the strong believe that the prayers of many who are following his story is the reason Noah is still alive and is getting stronger everyday. He is not out of the w00ds yet but with his c0ndition, his good appetite and his stable walking can be considered a miracle!

May we also pray for justice for Noah. No person in his right mind can do this. Let us prevent something like this from happening again. If you know who did this to Noah, please inform the SWS page.

Some of the followers decided to add more to the reward SWS offered so a REWARD: ₱15,000 will be given to the one who can point us to the culprit and will stand witness in the case we will file against him.
