Today, as we celebrate the Feast of Saint Andrew, we, the faithful of San Andres Apostol Parish in Greenwoods Executive Village, Cainta, gather together in thanksgiving for our patron saint. This feast day holds a special place in our hearts, not only because of the significance of Saint Andrew's life and witness but also because it is an occasion to celebrate the village fiesta, which strengthens our community and our faith.
As a parish, we are reminded of Saint Andrew’s instant response to Jesus' call, as well as his dedication to sharing the Good News with others. Just as Saint Andrew was the first to follow Jesus and invite his brother Peter to join him, we too are called to follow Christ and to share the message of salvation with others. His example inspires us to live out our Christian faith in every aspect of our lives and to respond with generosity to the call of Christ in our own hearts.
In our parish today, we will participate in the feast day Mass, offering prayers of thanksgiving and renewal. Through the Eucharist, we are united not only with Christ but also with one another as the Body of Christ. We will also come together to enjoy the village fiesta, which is a time of fellowship, joy, and celebration—a reflection of the community of faith that Saint Andrew built through his mission.
As we celebrate Saint Andrew’s feast day, we also remember the mission of our parish community and recommit ourselves to living out our faith with zeal and dedication. We are reminded of the importance of discipleship, evangelization, and the joy that comes from following Christ—just as Saint Andrew did, with an open heart and a willingness to leave everything behind.
Let us also take this opportunity to reflect on our own call to be "fishers of men"—to go out into the world and bring others to the love of Christ, just as Andrew did in his life. May we follow his example of faith, courage, and humility, remembering that each of us is called to be part of God’s plan of salvation for the world.
Through the intercession of Saint Andrew, may our parish continue to grow in faith and unity, and may our village fiesta be a joyful expression of gratitude for his witness and the grace of God in our lives.
Let us all come together today in celebration and prayer, giving thanks for the gift of faith and the life of our patron saint, Saint Andrew the Apostle.
