IS SALT BAD FOR DOGS AND CATS?
Answer: NO.
Dogs and cats require a certain amount of salt (sodium chloride) in their diet to maintain normal bodily functions. Salt is essential for regulating fluid balance, nerve and muscle function, and maintaining proper cellular function.
If a dog or cat eats too little or no salt at all in his diet, it can lead to symptoms such as weakness, lethargy, decreased appetite, vomiting, and eventually, death.
Superdog Nutrition (SDN42 and SDN28 dog food) and Supercat Nutrition (SCN) contain adequate amounts of sodium to keep them functioning properly and in the best of health.
It is, however, important to note that too much salt is a more common problem than too little, and can lead to conditions such as dehydration, high blood pressure, kidney damage, and death.
Therefore, do not feed your dog or cat foods or treats with too much salt such as that which may be found in certain human foods, or when preparing meals yourself in the wrong way. Certain pet food brands are also allegedly too salty. Ask your vet about them, and avoid them.
Also, it is very important that dogs and cats have 24/7 access to clean drinking water that is not cold or too warm.
We have been using SDN on ALL our hundreds of dogs since 2016. Many of our clients have also been feeding SDN to their dogs for many years now. It has just the right amount of salt.
We can attest to the fact that SDN, and now SCN, has given us the best possible results in our dogs and cats. And I can sincerely, whole-heartedly, say that you can trust our brands with your beloved furbabies also.
