Ngayon lang po ako maglalabas ng saloobin. I believe its also fair na malaman niyo ang side naming mga Veterinarians.
Let me walk you through with the POV of a Vet Clinic/Hospital Owner like me.
First and foremost, hindi po biro ang mag operate ng ganitong establishment. The FIXED COST can reach upto 60-70% and if you think we Vets are living a luxurious life, better think twice. FIXED COST such as Veterinarian’s Salary (3-6 vets or more depending on the operation)which ranges between 35-60k depending on experience, Vet Assistants (one per doctor) Salary Ranging from 15-17k again depending on experience, Secretaries, Client Representative, Social Media Manager, Groomers, Assistant groomer, do you imagine how much it is for us to sustain all of those? Not to mention other fixed cost such as RENT (35-50k) depending on location, Electricity (20-30k per month) Water, Internet, Medical Supplies, Medicine Supplies, Cleaning and Disinfection Materials (very meticulous and not your ordinary cleaning materials), Diagnostic Equipments (Xray, Ultrasound, CBC, CHEM Machines and other Machines ranging from 4-5million worth) some clinic hospital cant even afford to pay it in cash leaving us no choice but to differed the payment (most of the time) and other over head costs such as Bonuses, Government Mandated Benefits, BIR Taxes VAT (12%) quarterly. Trainings, local nd abroad seminars, books! and other learning materials for Veterinarians to enhance their practice hindi ko pa naisasama. Dagdag nadin ntn yung mga pameryenda sa staff sa pantry and other expense like free coffee for our clients and the list goes on! Mahaba na no? May idadagdag pa sana ako but i hope we are getting the point na.
These online businesses dont have that kind of overhead fixed cost and IS NOT PLAYING ON WHAT WE CALL “FAIR MARKET VALUE”. They dont even pay TAXES to the Government. They drop their prices leaving other legitimate fixed businesses hanging as if we are selling things UNFAIRLY. THEY DONT FIGHT FAIRLY IN THE MARKET just so you know.
And for us to keep running we need to compensate to all of this without being excessive and still on a competitive pricing (between 20-35% mark up at best).
Maswerte na yung iba if mabili pa nila ng BULK and direct to the supplier mas mura pa nila makukuha but sadly they will sell it with the same amount of mark up to the point na magmumukha kaming mataas.
ACTUALLY, hindi namin kasalanan na ang FURPARENTS ay “AFRAID OF THE BILL”
Kasalanan nila na hindi sla “PREPARED AND RESPONSIBLE” for the bill.
